Magnum at the Cornwall Coliseum, can't remember the exact year though. I'm sure it was just after "Days of no trust" so around 1988.

Persuaded my brother to take me to see Hawkwind at Worthing Assembly Halls in 1983... think it would have been the Earth Ritual? I have vague memories of Nik Turner schlepping up and down the stage on rollerskates, dressed in a silver lame jumpsuit, wearing a foot-long orange prong instead of hair and tootling away on his sax. Rather annoyingly, actually.

My sister wasn't allowed to go cos the old man was a tosser and she was a girl. When we got back she'd gone all sufragette and written "Hawkwind" in blood on the bathroom mirror. Her own blood, I think...

She loves being reminded of that hehe

Depeche Mode, 22 November 1990, first of three nights at Birmingham NEC on the World Violation tour.

Bloody brilliant they were, I remain a fan to this day.

Iron Maiden, Preston Guild Hall, October 1990, support from Wolfsbane.

I was right at the front and there was just a small gap between the crowd and stage, the last time I saw them I would have needed about 20 minutes to walk to the stage.

I still have the jumper I bought from the merch people.

I then waited 3 years until Jean-Michel Jarre at Manchester Maine Rd and then spent 11 years without going to any live concerts, I missed so much frown

Anthrax, Hammersmith Odeon, 1987 (maybe '88?). I was 17/18, I don't think my hearing has been right ever since. Drove there from the sticks in a Mk1 Escort 1100 with 4 passengers. Couldn't hear the engine cranking when I started it up after the gig, my ears were ringing so badly.

Status Quo at Wembley Arena, must have been '88 or '89.

It was the loudest thing I'd ever heard up until then, but I have since seen Motorhead at the Brixton Academy, now that was LOUD! cool
