How does this still happen?

What confuses me about this one is that they have got photos showing the whole family out and about?

No 2 parents can keep the mouths of 13 shut if they wanted to.

Seems one broke free and rang for help.

Might Sir prefer to re-count those negatives? I believe we may be agreeing vehemently...

In these cases and also those here of neglect, abuse and so on, I'm always amazed the neighbour's never raise issues with the authorities.

You'd think the going's on at such a household, would have got at least one individual with a brain to think, "hmmmm, maybe plod could do with knocking on their door".

Well with his hair cut, he's also wanted by the fashion police.

I suppose the fear thing is a good point.

Guess the one that broke free had had enough.

13 kids, imprisoned, shackled, tortured, stinking, squalor, misery, but the neighbours never saw or suspected anything unusual?

scratchchin

Sounds about normal to me, nobody wants to get involved, and heavens above, pointing a finger, making accusations..... yikes

Compensation culture, no win-no fee, ambulance chasers, it would be financial carnage, brutal.

For a country that's happy to have gun laws that allow the killing of innocent people I'm sure a mere 13 kids tortured is hardly enough to make their news bulletins.

I assume the family belonged to a 'quiverfull' or similar christian group.

Who have some interesting ideas about raising a family, including beating children with switches from the age of 6 months to encourage obedience.

I've been waiting for mention of religion to come out, too.

Its been quiet on that front so far, could also be rooted in Amish/Mennonite culture, the hair cuts of the boys look very Amish, combined with being cut off from the world, its all very odd.

Not sure how you think it makes Facebook useless?

Or do you think they posted a status like “Just chained up 7 of our kids. Lol” and people ignored it?
