I was shocked and disappointed when it turned out my Cadbury Creme Egg was not a real egg and failed to hatch even after I sat on it for three weeks.

I was more surprised to learn that France had veggies and/or vegans.

My ex was vegetarian and on a long weekend in France she survived solely on cheese sandwiches. Everything had meat, even a vegetable pizza had pepperoni on it, but they did offer to pick it off after it had been cooked....

Did you check the interwebs to see what the correct incubation time is for a Cadbury Creme Egg? Maybe you just gave up too soon.

How long before this gets entrenched in EU law.

I bet all the veggie sausage eating lefties who voted remain are now starting to see the light biggrin

Well there's already EU law that says feta cheese must be made in Greece. This was after someone in the north of England (IIRC) started winning awards for making the best feta cheese, I guess the Greeks didn't like it.

It's OK - they never used the word "sausage" much anyway.

If they'd banned the word "saucisse" however.....

Not soon enough.

I'm sick of these reconstituted soy products passing themselves off as good, honest meat. Good on the French for having the cajones to do this.

I've never tried vegan bacon... but I imagine it's what war crimes taste like.

When is a sausage not a saucisse? When it's a Boudin.

Hopefully they will change the name of 'Black Pudding' as well to prevent similar confusion amongst the gastronomes...

They have them all in one place so they can keep an eye on them - https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/19120+V%C3%A9g...

They'll be banning the 'weekend' next. Probably never 'strikes' though.

Nothing to stop him making that exact same type of cheese - he just can't call it feta. It can't be called feta if it's made in other parts of Greece, either.

It's because feta has Protected Geographical Indication/Protected Denomination of Origin. Any food that has historical roots in a particular area can be protected, and many foods of UK origin are, too. Melton Mowbray pork pies? Stilton? Jersey Royals? Cornish pasties? Scotch whisky? All protected. Plenty of others, too.

So much localised geo-specific naming 'as defined by' localised geo-specific naming in a free trade zone!

Wow - almost as if there some form of protectionism in the Common Agricultural Policy!

There are two words in French for sausage, saucisse, a feminine noun, (stop that giggling), for the sausages that we are are used to eating at breakfast, and saucisson, a masculine noun, for the smoked, or salami type sausage.
I’m not keen on salami, but don’t ban saucisse.
