Number of tvs from 1 sky plus box
Discussion
Hi, currently got sky plus hd and already running one cable from it to a bedroom. Would also like to run another cable to the kitchen and to be able to watch it in HD. Not bothered about the same channel on in all 3 places but would like to be able to change channel in the kitchen. Is this possible and what do i need? Thanks in advance. Cheers
Several different ways to do it, but basically as many times as you want just depends on the depth of your pockets and ultimate quality.
Simple method is Freeveiw HD modulator, then shared as a free view tv channel through out the house.
Slightly more expensive would be hdmi splitter and long (could be iffy) hdmi cables.
More expensive would be HDBaseT splitter feed the tv points with cat6 and receivers to decode back to HDMI
Hope that makes sense.

Thanks for the reply but my tech knowledge on this front is not great! The distance from the sky box in the living room to the kitchen is onlh around 4 meters so i was thinking i could run a cable but will i still be able to have a cable running to the tv in the bedroom? Does a hdmi splitter allow me to have 3 tvs off one box? Also how would i change channel in the kitchen? Thanks,
I have done this with 15m hdmi cables, hdmi powered splitter, then ir hdmi injectors. Bedroom, snug, lounge & kitchen. Yes, I have 4IR transmitters pointing at the sky box under the stairs.
Worked well for the last few years, though i am moving over to HDBaseT over a cat6 cable to tidy it all up a bit.
Hdmi can be fragile & finicky over such long distances

I did this at home with my Sky Box. I use a Neet HDMI splitter with 20m HDMI cable and it works great. You can change the channel with an IR kit from Neet, or I bought a Marmitek Powermid kit which is also very good. Check on Amazon.
As suggested above, the shorter the HDMI cable the better i.e. do not buy 20m unless you need it. I think 20m is around the limit though mine seems to work fine at that (and has been routed from ground floor, under the house and then into the loft!). I would recommend the HDMI setup.
