Cos the black ones are driven by drug dealers who'll come stab you.
Wifey has a black one, only substance she deals is Calpol! Never understood the hate these get, reminds me of the undeserved antipathy towards the Boxster when it was new. Apart from the small boot they are brilliant, easy to park, way nicer interior than q3 or Tiguan, and great ‘off road’ in the occasional Nationa Trust car park (!)

I know that junction well. Only an idiot could fail to realise something was not normal, by the extended Kerb installed to do entirely what the "no left turn" sign tells drivers , viz: makes it very difficult to do a left turn.
Yours truly, nearly got run down at that junction around 10 years ago, another moron attmpting to turn left , the kerb was extended a couple of years after and the bollard installed. Seems some were not as lucky as me.

The first time in history that an Evoque has been truly off-road
They are, actually, really, really good off road, surprisingly. Not that many get used that way.If you think about it, it's one of the lightest LR products, with exceptionally short front and rear overhangs. I've driven a lot of LRs, properly off road and was impressed with the Evoque. Granted, few ever get used properly.
