I've been Googling for decent midi files, the results are clogged up with people putting forward their 'professional quality' midi files which when demoed are revealed to be garbage. If they were free they wouldn't be worth the effort of downloading, and they are not free.

So if anyone knows of any firms that do good stuff I would be interested, thanks.

Just out of interest why do you want MIDI files?

I am kind of presuming to use as triggers to make backing tracks??

Most people I know using backing tracks these days get them off sites like guitarbackingtrack.com etc

I'm prob way off the mark here!

If you're desperate for Midi have a look at ultimate guitar and down load the Guitar pro files - I think that would be an easy conversion.

You used to be able to get music score books which would have a floppy disk of the MIDI files on the front, I've got a Sting one somewhere, An Englishman In New York is one of the tracks. Played through my Korg 05/RW the quality was outstanding, It opened my eyes to what you can do with MIDI.
