I can honestly say I was surprised how good the gig was. Put virtually every other band I've ever seen in the shade. A lesson in how to do stadium rock and I don't think anyone else will ever come close. Not really my taste in rock music (I prefer the heavier stuff) but I'm so glad I eventually got to see the hottest rock'n'roll band in the land.
This was more for my husband than me as he grudgingly came to Metallica the month before, but yes, an absolute corker of a show and I was amazed at how many kiss songs I actually knew. Proper showmen.

Massive Wagons in Chester last night. Great gig with some great support acts.
Wish they hadn't turned the volume up so much for MW though, painfully loud, I must be getting old

Doves tonight at Somerset House, a magnificent venue to see a band, weather looks perfect, an early birthday present to myself.

Just driven home 80 miles in a monsoon from Dunfermline seeing Garbage at the lovely little Alhambra theatre. Great gig, fantastic seeing a proper band in a tiny venue.

To echo the previous posts, I saw Kiss at London O2 last Thursday - phenomenal gig, absolute masters of the live show and will be sorely missed once they've finally packed it all in frown

Argh!!!!

I booked a holiday for the first week of November and then realised it meant I was going to miss a gig (The Blow Monkeys) that I'd already booked!

Luckily the promoter was great and gave me a refund - Can't see Ticketmaster or the O2 doing that...

Then I spotted they were doing another gig, fairly near by, but it's the day before I fly and I'm not sure what time we leave, so that wasn't going to happen.

Then today I get an alert saying the Stereo MCs are playing the Boileroom in Guildford - Great, I think, that's one to see.... Nope, it's the Thursday of my holiday!

Why is everyone gigging in the Guildford area in early November! frown

I only just get back in time to catch OMD at G-Live, but at least I will be home and unpacked by then! biggrin

First world problem, I guess smile

We haven't booked dates yet but I will be going to as many of the Samantha Fish gigs in March next year as I can manage. She is an amazing guitarist and as she is not so well known the gigs are small and intimate so it is possible to get to the front of the crowd and stand within ten feet of the performers on stage

For any guitar fans who have not heard her just check out any of the videos on YouTube

Just booked tickets for a Lana Del Rey gig next year.
It will be a departure from my usual metal gigs, haha!
Anyone else going?

I’d love to go to that but a bit too far to travel from Reading.

Wave a couple of twigs for me!

,

Many thanks for the heads up on this. Been playing her stuff non stop in work since, converted many in the pub and bought 4 tickets for The Globe at Cardiff in March (yeh I know but next years thread hasn't started yet wink )

Shame it wasn't at The Tramshed, as that is my favourite venue, but the Globe is cracking and suitably small and pokey for my liking! Would be awesome if She gets offstage and plays a solo or two ........ can't wait bounce

Went to see Eels last night in Hammersmith. It was good even though he is getting quite old now.

On Sunday I saw Royal Blood at den Atelier in Luxembourg.
BIG noise in a small venue. \m/

Since they were last here 2 years ago, they've really upped their game.
Ben also managed ot neck a bottle of Patron Tequila during his 1h20 on stage!
