Elton John, saw him last year at some Radio 2 thing in Hyde Park. Sounded just like the record.

Daltrey is still great, but if you can't hear how his voice has changed, you've probably exposed your hearing to too many Who concerts.

Can't agree there. Elton's voice is a shadow of what it once was. He lost a great deal of his upper range when he had nodule surgery and Elton has a band member that does the high stuff these days.

Ian Gillan for me.

No way! Didnt you see Deep Purple on the BBC at the end of last year? He's a shadow of his former self. He should give up.

Careful song choice maybe. Sounded great nonetheless.

I think that's the most important thing for an ageing voice. Sometimes it is necessary to change the key and the way the song is sung.

I'm gonna nominate Neville MacDonald, formerly of SKIN, now Hand of Dimes for this. Still an awesome rock voice.

Brilliant in the 70s but early as 1980 his voice was declining, tbh there's probably better EJ tribute acts than the real thing now and that's probably the case with a lot of top performers.
I think as a rule Americans tend to be affected less than Brits with ageing voices.
Big Kate Bush fan but wasn't overly impressed on the bits I've heard of them live shows she did a few years back.

I guess it depends on their style as well - I don’t think Leonard Cohen ever sounded much different through his life.

Paul Carrack, if he hasn't already been mentioned.

Perhaps he should be in the 'singer/songwriters' that still have it.

Robert Smith. If anything he's better now than he was 30 years ago.
