Gig Plans - 2020
Discussion
I went to see Goan Dogs, a Bristol based band, who have been around for 8 years, but apparently hadn't played live for a couple of years before last Saturday.
The weather was awful and a pitiful 50 or so people turned out to see them at Boileroom in Guildford, but I thought they were excellent.
I struggled to think who, if anyone, they reminded me of, but I've come up with nothing, but if they're playing near you and you fancy something different, go and see them.

Not much so far this year.
Twin Atlantic album launch gig at King Tuts in Glasgow earlier in the month, then
Stereophonics at SSE Hydro
Sam Fender at Glasgow Barrowlands
Evanescence at SSE Hydro
Pearl Jam at Hyde Park
The last quarter of the year always seems to be busiest gig-wise for me so I'll no doubt add more as artists announce.

Not really sure about the new twin Atlantic stuff .
I had my reservations, but live (and loud and up close in a small sweaty venue) the new tracks they played were great. I've always thought their stuff sounds much better live than the 'produced' recorded versions.

Extremely unlikely I'd say.
Just got face value tickets for Aerosmith at the MEN Arena (is it still called that?)
I saw Aerosmith in Las Vegas last year, despite their ages and excesses over the years they've still got it and put on a great show.Just got face value tickets for Aerosmith at the MEN Arena (is it still called that?)

I'm quite excited to get a ticket to see Jack Peñate in London in May.
I've been a fan since seeing him on a Glastonbury TV slot many years ago, but until a few days ago I thought he'd given up music.
I spotted a new album by him in a local record shop and bought it and then a couple of days ago I got an email to say he was playing in London.
Really looking forward to it.

Beth Hart at Sheffield City Hall last night.
Intense, personal, wonderful and refreshing to experience a 'different' live act. If you've seen her you'll know what I mean.
"This song is dedicated to my ma, we all owe our mothers so much"
Two minutes later - sudden silence halfway through the song
"F*cking hell I've forgotten the lyrics"

We’ve gone for a festival this year, Isle of Wight. Other half has done it before, said its good, so we’ve a group of us going.
Just booked Oh Wonder for our 3rd gig watching them, in London In December. We’ll have a mini break/sightseeing whilst there.
About to book Jimmy Eat World in Brixton, pretty sure I saw them there in the 90’s, so be good to relive.
Feastival is close to us, so probably do that for a day too.
Mainly posting to get ideas though!
