Glastonbury 2020 ... now 2022

Watching Herbie Hancock, would enjoy it more if the drummer would play the same tune! Sounds like he's putting a shed up or trying to beat the other musicians to the end.
Two questions,
the guitar player has a 7 string Schottmuller, what's the tuning on that? Used to a 5 string bass but not 7 string lead?
At the likes of Glastonbury can the audience at the back actually hear or see the band or do they rely totally on the big screens and speakers relaying the music around the venue?

The sound all over the festival this year was sensational. And loud - too loud on some stages tbh. At the larger stages there are varying number of delay towers so you have no problem hearing what's going on.It seemed that there were more stages with screens this year and the size and quality was generally excellent. I was pretty much at the back for the Ross concert (200m from the stage) and had no problem seeing or hearing (unfortunately).
Biggest issue these days is the ever increasing numbers of flag-wkers

Ta, can imagine a flag waving in front of you gets a but distracting and it looked like a Tibetan Camp at times. It seemed that there were more stages with screens this year and the size and quality was generally excellent. If the various stages have the sound relayed around, can you har a smaller stage when the Pyramid stage is playing?

Little Dragon followed by Bicep my highlights this evening, might just have to catch Lorde on iPlayer.
Was at both those gigs as well. Never seen either before. Little Dragon not really my cup of tea but Bicep was a cracking set.Stand-out for me this weekend was Sleaford Mods at West Holts on Friday and Khruangbin at Park on Friday evening.

Saw his set live, everyone I was with gave him a chance and was surprised at how much they enjoyed it. However much you might think you’re above some 90s rock star, he still smashed it based on what I observed from crowd level
I'm pleased for you. To me he's a ste frontman and his glory days are long gone.We like different things it would appear.
Well that might actually have been my best Glastonbury yet! Perfect weather, great acts, most people seemed to be in an even better mood than other years.
Favourite acts - Haim, Mcfly (I'm young enough that I was a massive fan as a teenager and we managed to get inside the tent) and Elvana at Williams Green on Thursday
Bad bits - Pinch points were way worse towards arcadia this year after headliners but it is what it is!

I'm just back in the land of the living after getting an 0530hrs coach out on Sunday morning - if you sign up for the coach travel package as an 'early bird' ticket buying option then you get what you are given. Hence we stayed up partying after the headliners on Sunday night, as well as Saturday night, so had very little sleep in the final 48hrs, which wears a bit at (nearly) 50!
This was my tenth Glastonbury, and quite possibly the best.
Friday: The Libertines, Orlando Weeks, Griff (she is going to be a superstar), Crowded House, Supergrass, (a bit of) Billy Bragg, Saint Etienne, Paul Heaton & Jacqui Abbott
Satuday: Hak Baker (vey funny end to his slot, track 'PC Plod', Brass Against, Skunk Anansie (brilliant - Skin came into the crowd, in touching distance of me, I got in the mosh pit at the end, was fun), Metronomy, Tony Christie, Noel Gallagher, Macca
Sunday: Sports Team, Herbie Hancock, Fontaines DC, Elbow, JARV IS, Pet Shop Boys
+ loads of lae night action round William's Green. We camp by he John Peel Stage so I like hanging out there. I'm completely done by the crowds getting to the South East Corner, we tried to go to see Beans on Toast at the Avalon Cafe after Pet Shop Boys but because of all the one-way sysems they have to put in to ensure crowd safety it was impossible to get htere from the Other Stage a that time of night, withoug doing a massive detour through Block 9/Shangri La etc, which was just absolutely rammed full of people. I really dislike them putting all that action in the one place, its 'not vey Glastonbury" in hte terms of pushing and shoving that it invokes in a lot of people.
Altogher though I had an amazing time and hope to be back next year.
