Help to identify a track please.

I'm hoping one of the PH music aficianados can help to identify a track for me.

I missed the start of the track because I was out of the room but returned to hear the last minute or so of a track being played in full as an ad on Youtube. Apologies for the vague description but the video was very simple with just some abstract animated lyrics displayed in sync with the music.

The track was reminiscent of The Cure with the sound dominated by loud effects laden guitar and a tale of unrequited love.

I liked it a lot and would love to find out who the artist was.........not too much to go on I know but, any ideas?

Are we talking old or new here? Are you sure it wasn't actually The Cure? - they're still churning stuff out.

If not The Cure, it could be Placebo. Hard to tell the difference sometimes.

Your best bet is to find the advert again. What was the advert for?

If you watch it back you could just Google the lyrics or use the Shazam app to identify the song.

I played in a similar band once. We were called Prevention. We were better than The Cure.

New...…...it was on YouTube this week.

Didn't sound like Robert Smith, Singer had a younger voice with a higher register.

Apologies......my first post is ambiguous.

The track wasn't used as backing for commercial advert...………….the advert was for the track. YouTube music played the whole track as some form of promo.
