Sod being nice, I'm not nice, i have a black heart, this year isn't nice, it's been a stty year, so here's my a stty artist (aka how the fk did you get famous) list. biggrin

There are some people who I HAVE to turn off, not down, I just can't 'tune out', they literally have my senses screaming. Probably an ASD thing. I have to kill it.

First of all there's punch Mariah Carey..... I honestly do not know what other people actually hear!.... over singing every single line, warbling, it sounds like Karaoke Yodelling to me. Horrible just horrible. vomit

I have others... she's top of the off list for me

Come on haters, bring the scorn.

Bowie & James Brown - never understood the adulation others seem to feel, Brown especially is just noise to me.

THE LIGHTHOUSE FAMILY!!!

I wish they'd been 'lifted' and then dropped from height.

I have this argument with my husband all the time - he loves Bowie. Bowie can NOT sing! however I really like the 'sound' of some of his music (definitely not all) but to my ears, he just cannot sing. Awful.

I listen to Planet Rock a fair bit.

But whenever they play anything by "Yes" or "Rush" off it goes.

It is better to listen to a whistling bogey in your nostril than that crap.

There are 3 types of radio music
1) leave the volume as it is
2) turn it up
3) turn it off.

The first two types are huge lists of various artists.

The third, Queen, Genesis, Phil Bloody Collins, Van Morison .

Interesting!

I think Michael Bolton has a problem with the material - he's firmly in the Radio 2 camp, which is a shame because he does have a good voice. So I agree with you.

Simply Red, yep, I can see that. But I did go to a private concert a while ago where Mick was fronting the original Faces instead of Rod. Wow! What a voice, absolutely stunning and a real presence on stage - I was about five feet from him.

I do actually agree with you as it happens. I guess my point is that these artists are successful for a reason - and I can see why.

This is fun if you have time:
