Skimmed the first and last few pages, but no mention of the Foo Fighters.

I think overplaying of 'Waiting on a War' on Absolute Radio has done it for me, or I'm just getting old... But it's just noise!
They are very bland 'dad rock'. Every album is exactly the same, so while I enjoyed the first few albums and the odd later track, they have got quite stale and tiresome - not to the point of switching off perhaps, but the world doesn't really need any more Foo Fighters songs.

I really think they are better doing heavier stuff.

Dave Grohl in Foo Fighters (Nirvana not applicable) appears to be the Keanu Reeves of Rock. Seems like an utterly nice chap in real life, a few standout entertaining but shallow moments but with a lot of drivel in between.

Some earlier also mentioned Mumford and Sons. Please make it stop with your twiddly twiddly ohsodaringlysweary twiddly ste.

I tend to agree with you on most of those, especially The Beatles and Queen. Talented bands with presence ability but the end product grates. REM is another strange one for me. I quite liked Losing My Religion when it first hit but and I bought the Out of Time CD and thought it was a bland and utterly forgettable piece of work. Everything else I heard from them do was the same.

Another vote for Morrissey/The Smiths.

He doesn't sing, he just whines over a backing track. Self righteous tt.

Actually, that's what they should have called themselves-The Self Righteous tts.

Have never listened to more than a few lines

Definitely another hyped up money making machine

Then again, if the Beatles did it why shouldn't she

I know I shouldn't bite, but I can't help it...

Do you honestly see Adele and the Beatles as on about the same level?

No, I think The Beatles were better than Adele

Haven't compared them anyway, simply commented on money making machines

Well, there is no denying that the Beatles generated a tremendous amount of money. They also left behind the most astonishing collection of songs ever produced.

I'm staggered at some of the names posted. Led Zeppelin, U2, Oasis, Bowie, the Beatles.... WTAF!!!! These are my heroes.

But then I'm an old fart i suppose, however Springsteen and Dylan really grind my gears and get channel changed instantly.

It just goes to show how subjective musical taste and opinions are....

Yeah, it's pretty amazing. A lot of the artists who comprise most of the material for my gigs have been dismissed here as if they are on the level of the Spice Girls.

I do some Dylan and Springsteen though, both of them have written some really solid songs. I can appreciate Dylan, in particular, is not the best singer of all time.

Agreed

What often pisses me off is when people knock some artists without having heard hardly any of their music

Why? Surely it would be much worse if they knocked artists having heard hardly any of their music, or if they hadn't heard all of their music!
