Saw Leeds indie rockers Apollo Junction in Brum on Satuday night at the tiny Sunflower Lounge venue - they were really entertaining, would go see them again.

Just bought tickets for Arcade Fire at The O2 in September - as standing ticket coming in at 84 quid these days with all the add ons. I saw them at Wembley Arena four years ago for a mere 66 quid a go. One wonders when we will hit the ceiling on gig ticket prices, it is getting very pricey indeed.

Saw Johnny Marr and Blondie last week, then going to see The Cult and Alice Cooper later in the month.

As much as they can away with.

We passed on Metallica a couple of years ago @ £140 a pop for poxy twickenham.

Seeing them this July playing a festival in Lisbon for which day admission tickets are £65.

Managed to get Arcade Fire tickets for Birmingham in September. Surprisingly straightforward using the pre-pre sale for those who had purchased the album. Cannot wait.
It was a bit of a faff getting a standing ticket for London, but got there in the end, and then looked at what else I've got lined up - the night after Linkin Park.

Next up for me is the other end of the scale, with Marisa & The Moths at Nambucca. Sadly, it will be my first and last visit to that venue as it closes it's doors at the weekend.

Sadly it's nearly as cheap for a long weekend & gig as it is to go to a big venue over here for just the event frown

Used some Virgin air miles to get tickets to see Whitesnake, Foreigner and Europe at the AO Arena next Wednesday.

Then last week I got Virgin Hospitality passes in the post - happy days!

Got a literally last minute ticket to see Nick Mason's Saucerful of Secrets in Portsmouth a couple of nights ago, absolutely brilliant gig and now regretting not going to see them on an earlier tour.

I'd argue they were as good as Pink Floyd were in 1994 at Earls Court when I saw them, the pre-Dark Side material really deserves the wider audience it's now getting. Echoes was just awesome live.

Anyway back to my normal stuff soon...Bauhaus and Kraftwerk up next.

UK doesn’t seem to be as popular as Europe for touring jazz musicians, anyone noticed?

Pleased to see Brad Mehldau coming, so I booked tickets for his show at the Barbican.

Been hoping for Avishai Cohen to visit for years, but still nothing scheduled.
John McLaughlin at Barbican sat 28th may

Interesting about the band ejecting people using phones (presumably to film the performance) - I saw a band (forget who now) a couple of years back who said quite the opposite "If you've got a phone, you better be filming this and putting it on YouTube!".

I find people who talk to their mate all through the performance more annoying than people filming a few minutes here and there on their phones.

I did once see Macy Gray and a couple of people were filming with full-sized iPads - Now that WAS annoying...

My thoughts too really. Mate can't make the rescheduled date so it would be awfully rude to not accept.

Apologies for the thread de-rail.
I’ve two tickets for Pearl Jam in Budapest. A 6 month old girl wasn’t on the scene at the time of booking and now my wife isn’t interested in going. Where is the place to sell tickets these days, especially for European gigs ??
Gonna travel to London now on my own I think.

Apologies haven’t had to do this in a while. Mods if this is against the rules feel free to remove (not trying to sell them in here) cheers.

Twickets is great for UK based gigs, but I'm not sure how many people would be on there looking for PJ in Budapest.

Cheers, usual use done deal but not sure that's the catchment I'm after. Will pop them up and see what happens. Might go on the actual PJ forums also.

There is Ten club, and also pretty active Facebook groups for each of the tour shows - https://www.facebook.com/search/top?q=pearl%20jam%... Not sure how you'd complete the transaction though.

Count yourself lucky, I had flights, accommodation and tickets for the 100th running of the Indy 500 that was scuppered by the arrival of a small girl human!

Few updates to this years list for me

Shed seven, tbc, rearranged gig from earlier this month - never made this as the rearranged date didn’t suit.
Paul Weller at Hull bonus arena
Reytons at Asylum, Hull university - never made this as ended up in hospital 😔
Reytons, at Magna in Rotherham - bloody brilliant
Yard act at Irish centre, Leeds
Paul Heaton / Proclaimers / Lathums @ Doncaster football ground, June I think
Askern music festival. The coral, the lightning seeds, feeder, plus others

Did you see that Paul put a grand behind the bar of each of 60 pubs across the country last week to celebrate his 60th birthday?

What a top fella!

He and Jacqui are headlining the Acoustic Stage on the Friday night at Glastonbury this year. Sorry Billie Eilish, but I'll be watching them instead.

Alas I don't think they ever show the Acoustic on any BBC coverage (I don't think, I could be wrong) which is a shame.
