Kraftwerk aren't playing in the UK on this tour, but they're playing Limerick and Dublin.
Would've loved to see them in Limerick and take the whole family over, but other hols / plans put paid to that but my wife suggested I go to Dublin. Bought two tickets... then booked a hotel. Nothing cheap available.

But I've since decided it's a expense I can do without, so cancelled the hotel. Didn't get round to booking flights.
Tickers up for sale on Ticketmaster.

That'll teach me to plan a gig in another country on impulse.
Seem them quite a few times over the years (and mainly abroad), last time being in Germany 2022 I looked at both of these gigs and decided not to bother as the set never changes and they were only doing minor tweaks to the 3D show, if you've not seen them before though I'd really recommend going at some time.

The sound system in Bonn last year was off the scale good, they also sang everything in German which made a nice change.

Counting down the days till Graspop 2023. Not going to lie, the initial line up announcement didn't do a lot for me, I'm a lot more chilled about it now!

I've kind of lost touch with them. I loved them when I was a kid back in the 70's, saw them live , twice on the computer world tour ('81 I think? ), and not bought an album since (apart from changing lp/tape to CD).

Springsteen at Murrayfield last night amazing, all the better for being right at the front, seeing the interaction up close is great.
I was there, never seen Springsteen live before and it was as you say amazing, and the E Street Band were phenomenal. Loved Max at the end running down to give his drumsticks to the young lad in front.

Does Pete Tong and the Heritage Orchestra count as a gig, I'm off to see them at Blenheim Palace in a coupe of weeks. It'll be my third ever gig after oasis at Knebworth in 96, and Boy George, Kim Wilde at Englefield House last year. ( which was excellent). 3 gigs in 49 years. Beat that.

I was supposed to be at The Lower Third on Denmark Street tonight to see The Goa Express. For those that don’t know, Denmark Street is London’s traditional music centre, but has lacked a live music venue for a number of years until TLT opened last year - it was once the 12 Bar Club I believe. I say “supposed to be” as the gig was postponed and I found out at 15:45 having already made my way from Kent to London despite the train strike. Arse.

A few coming up in the next month;
My Life Story @ Tunbridge Wells Forum (90s band that I recall 1 song by, but a mate is a fan)
Dodgy @ Kentish Town Forum
Far From Saints (Kelly Jones of Stereophonics side-project) @ London Lafayette
Embrace @ The Piece Hall, Halifax

Will try to buy tickets for Pulp @ Hammersmith Apollo when released as I didn’t fancy any of the outdoor shows.

To be honest the set hasn't changed much since 81, a few Tour de France and Electric Cafe tracks but fundamentally the same. The visuals though are really good and the set is fully 3D now, worth going for that but don't expect the interaction they used to have when you saw them.

Don't think they ever bettered Computer World as an album but if you haven't heard them the 2 post CW albums are really great, underrated I think when they get compared to the rest of the catalogue. I've given up expecting new music from Kraftwerk now, probably for the best...

I almost bought a ticket for Pulp at Hammersmith, but in the end £90 just seems too much.

It's becoming a theme - I quite fancied seeing Siouxsie too (I have fond memories of the Banshees in the early 80s), but that was over £70 and in central London which, with the potential for train strikes, might have been a pain to get to, so that will remain in the 'memories' slot.

I had exactly the same cost and travel doubts about Pulp, but went for it anyway. I still think of £40 as quite expensive for a gig, but it's Pulp in a venue that isn't an arena or outdoors and I'm guessing that they won't be playing very much after this batch of dates (it must be 10+ years since the last ones?), so fingers crossed for a memorable gig and a hassle-free journey.

I remember when Tour de France came out as a single and I really didn't like it, so that's what probably put me off buying the new stuff. I guess age mellows you as I quite like it now. Off to trawl ebay to see if there's any cheap second hand ones for sale.

Last year I was looking at going to see Pablo Nutini at the Echo Arean in Liverpool.

187 quid for the cheapest ticket - fk right off.

I struggle with things like this. I like Paulo Nutini, I know he's reasonably popular, but he's not top drawer like, say Beyonce or Bruce Springstein, yet evey time I've gone to buy tickets to see him, he's charging top level money!

I know sometimes it's down to the venue. We saw Blancmange last year and there was a £10 difference in ticket prices between two local small venues.
I suppose these prices will be charged until venues don't sell out.

The internet ruined everything! Twenty years ago, bands toured to support albums. Now no one pays for music, or if they do, they're paying Spotify who give artists 0.0000000001p per stream, so we've created a world in which bands tour for income. I don't disagree with posters above, I would never pay £190 for a ticket, it's gouging but it is the world we created from Napster to Spotify., bands gotta make a living.

Sometime I wonder if the likes of Dave Gilmour & peers look on at how things are today & count their blessings they came up when they did.

Read Duff MacKagans book, and after his issues he went back to college to study accountancy. He mentions that he then went back over their contracts and realized they actually got good deals. Not everyone was so lucky obviously.

Got Pulp tickets today for Hammersmith Apollo, I nearly bailed when I saw they were £87 for just regular standing, bloody hell! But then I thought, hey I know I'll never see them again, and I never saw them back in the day so what the hell.

Saw the Pulp tickets and thought, "huh, just for fat old blokes reliving their 90s youth".

I'll be standing at the stalls bar on the Friday.

So did I. Is he really that big ? When I saw the price, I thought "Hang, he's not Elton John or Madonna, is he ?"
