He has always been political, and often quite outspoken. I don't think that necessarily makes him "idiotic". I've even agreed with him sometimes, and I'm far from a leftie.

Unwanted truths or awkward questions about Ukraine? Well, we can't have that, can we? Better make an example of him.

ETA the "open letter" he is apparently in trouble for seems to be this one -

It's not Washington's line, but I cannot see anything obviously untrue in it either.

Not someone who is or was ever afraid of expressing his opinions.
Hopefully he won't get 'cancelled' by his detractors. As is the way these days.
Definitely not an idiot. A bit of an erse sometimes perhaps.

I think it's more that he avoided the 'unwanted truth' that Russia might have some responsibility for the war.

He's always been a bit of a gobste though, hasn't he? Expressing an opinion is fine and there was a brilliant article by Kissinger on how the West must take some responsibility for the war in Ukraine but Waters just shows himself up to be a bit of a plank with a very skewed version of events neatly missing the massive misstep by Putin.

Stick to playing music Woger and stop trying to be the next Bono.

As someone who wrote the lyrics to some of Floyd's greatest tunes, he has - historically - been a total and utter wkspangle and a colossal anus

Frankly, the music is st so I’d rather he shut the fk up and gave the music a miss, too

Love Pink Floyd and they're better without this arrogant self-important tw4t.

Why do some musicians think that their popularity gives them a platform for their political views? Conceited wker.

Just to build on this a little, I don't necessarily have a problem with an egocentric muso gobbing off about a thing they believe in, it's more that just because they have celebrity status and a captive audience, it doesn't make them any more right than the average Joe (or Josephine) on the street. That's what really irks me. Shut up.
