It's pretty good I agree but is a bit messy and not the thing for a customer's guitar.

True enough. I actually fitted an LSR roller nut to one of my strats. Seems to do the trick too.

Hi John,

Kind regards

Got a roller nut on this one, early carved top custom shop strat, works really well, got locking tuners , so its great not to have to mess about with the Floyd locking nut.
I hear you about correct set up etc and floating trems, but just cannot get on with them, first thing I do is get the Floyd/trem blocked with a bit of wood in the cavity so as to only allow dive bomb type movement, keeps it nice & rigid & tuning is far better, can nicely drop the E down to D for a few songs without having to retune the whole thing.I hate floating trems, never have I found one that stays in tune very well etc.Yes if you are a guitar tech type etc I am sure you can get on with them but I really am not into fiddling with guitars etc, struggle to find enough time to play them nowadays!
I hate the no trem thing as well, horrible, the little black screws I meant are in the back in the bar to stop movement ,to either lock it out fully , or just allow the down movement, but again it just does not work well, the little screws vibrate out & get lost in 5 mins..so my charvel Is in the tech shop at mo getting it removed & having a block inserted

Hi Mark, it's called Elliott and Nolan and it's at 216 Queensway. If you would like to visit I'm here 10-5 Mon-Sat and it's got its own car park at the back.

Yes, might call in just to say hello (regrettably I've never learned to play the guitar...)

Hope all goes well.

I might have to book myself in to have a quick lesson on setting up guitars (if you offer that!).

Only to PHers.

Thing to do would be to bring two guitars (ideally with floating tremolos) with whatever strings you like, I'll do one and explain what I'm doing, then you do the next one while I watch and make suggestions smile.

Couldn't hold out any longer, so cancelled the Plustop and went for the Tribute. Seriously beautiful thing, and cranking it hard through the V30 & 2x12 cab it just sounds better and better. Heavy old lump, but I actually prefer that in a guitar sometimes. Definitely made the right choice I reckon, thanks for the help guys. smile
Welcome to the Tribute club! I've got a midnight blue one, it was the last in the shop last year. My Classic vibe Tele has been lonely ever since! Beautiful guitars for the price. Tempted with another!

All my friends were trying to convince me get the MB one, but I couldn't resist the BC in the end smile

Still love mine, it's just got the most perfect tone and so, so flexible for different types of music. The difference between the two pups is night and day, yet they combine so well when you run them together. Tbh I wish this guitar had come out 20 years earlier, would've saved me a fortune laugh

Ahh, the Eko 12, built like a tank with a detachable neck, I remember them well.

My dad had an EKO 12 string, sold it for about £50 for some reason despite me telling him not to and that he'd regret it. He now regrets it.

Thats such an amazing guitar. I've been thinking of selling my electric blue flying V and trading up for one of these. Its so tempting. I'll post my flying V in a few days when I'm back home and you guys can tell me what you think would be a fair price smile

I picked up my 1976 Flying V for £3500 I think, but having just had a look on reverb, they go as low as £350 (!!!), but most seem to fit in the £1000-1500 area.

You mean a V built in 1976, I guess? The big $$$ come from its relative rarity. The Medallion model (a bit earlier?) goes for crazy dough.

Those others at £350 (broken/scam) - £1000 are surely a modern reissue? Maybe the '67 reissue mistyped?

Spent today playing one that I thought I'd never sell. Time to pass it along to the next guy.

A very special guitar, but I'm cutting down to just one single-cut LP.

Now for the CITES headache that didn't exist when I bought it... :-/
