Lets look at our guitars thread
Discussion
This is one I made about 20 years ago. Just given it a refresh and I'm trying out some new pickups. Kavanagh VBC by Elliott and Nolan, on Flickr

Not normally a fan of an unpainted guitar, but I really like the simplicity of that.
I like painted guitars too, generally (my favourite being light blue). But I wish I'd got a good picture of the one above just after it had been made, black walnut fades a lot with exposure to light, it used to be a lot darker. Having said that, the grain comes out better now.Just bought this 2008 50s Classic Telecaster, not a mark on it and the perfect base for converting it into one like the Hot Rod pictured below. I would have got the Hot Rod itself, but I only seem to like 7.25" radius fingerboards and low vintage frets, so didn't see the point in buying the Hot Rod to then change the neck. Routing this (much cheaper) 50s Classic for a humbucker seems a better option and I love the way it feels to play (I already have another White Blonde 50s Classic Tele, so it was a fairly safe blind buy).

I think I would want to give this a good clean if I bought it. At bit Over the top.

I need a tele in my life. Not sure why i haven't got one already tbh
Yours looks bloody lovely.
Thanks, technicaly I've got three now, but that was only because I decided this 'new' one was better value that buying a new neck and other upgrades for my Affinity Tele. I'll put that one back to standard and see if I can get a few quid for it on Gumtree as it'll never get played now.Yours looks bloody lovely.

Great guitars, Cricket bats with strings.
I like that...I think I'll use it if you don't mind. Sheetmaself said:
Obviously not an advert, but if you were selling the old pick ups on the Tele let me know. I have a squier affinity strat which is crying out for some better pick ups!
Actually I've got a bit of a dilema now: This Tele sounds great through my Marshall Mini Jubilee stack and my Tweed Blues Junior. I need to do a side by side with my other 50s Classic (which I upgraded the pick ups to some Fender OVs I've had for years).I will need to decide which pickups stay in which guitar before I start routing for the humbucker, but in theory I should still end up with a set of decent single coils left over, so I'll let you know once I've sorted them out.

Isn't there a thread about using your wife/girlfriend to sell a car somewhere...just a variation on it I guess, but I was looking hard to make sure there weren't any visible cracks...http://www.ebay.com/itm/1979-GIBSON-ES-335-TOBACCO...
...in the guitar.
they have done a few LP's with floyds now, the most 'famous' series is the alex lifeson axcess models, seem t be more popular nowadays. There is another run coming out this year as well, so it seems as 'odd' as it is having a floyd on an LP , it has become realtively popular. I really like them, this one has the nice neck shape , taking chunks out of the heel to body joint, ala Alex lifeson model.
I love them , fat 58 neck , lovely slinky 24.75 scale , floyd ( not set up to float, I block mine so it has no upward movement, helps immensely for me with tuning & resting my hand heel on the bridge etc )...very nice playing & sounding guitar..yes not one for the Gibson purists though!

I might have some Tele pickups available - I took them out of an American Standard Tele a year or so ago, one might be a Seymour Duncan replacement, I'd have to check. They're sat in my guitar bits drawer, PM me if you're interested.OldSkoolRS said:

Nice. IMHO a low output neck HB paired to a punchy bridge S/C gives a great versatile guitar :-) Shop photos of my new Tele:
