All mine have straps as I can't play sitting down. Here's one for good measure:

And a nice thick leather strap too, I have one like that; a bandmate bought it for me for Christmas 1981. Probably my oldest (musical)) possession apart from the '79 Strat it usually lives on.

I don't have any use for straps, I don't play standing up
I find most guitars I prefer strap when I'm sitting also. I can do without but I end up supporting guitar weight with my fretting hand which means I don't play as cleanly.

Just put a Callaham compensated saddle bridge on my American Special Tele.

Very impressed, Beautifully made and was even pretty well adjusted straight out of the box, just needing a small tweak to the string heights. Intonation was spot on.

Gorgeous PRS ^^^

Always wanted a JEM 77FP and by chance this just popped up on my feed.

It’s a Mint 15th Anniversary. They are hard to find in this condition.

Ad details as follows -

Guitars History
This was a collectors guitar. Its history is very simple. It was bought new and has been kept in the case ever since. You will not find a better example of this guitar anywhere else. The previous collector may have strummed this guitar and lightly played it but there are almost no signs of visible playing anywhere on this guitar.

Guitar Condition
Fit and Finish
PERFECT!

?Fret Life/Fretboard
Fretboard is unplayed. No signs of playing, the frets are professionally rounded and gleaming

Tremolo
Still with a fantastic mirror finish, No blemishing and no pitting on the tremolo unit. Its as new

Neck
Original Neck Straight as an arrow

Electronics
As you would expect in a mint instrument there are no issues with electronics. Sounds like a dream and the pickups scream!!

Body work
No dings, No scratches, No dents or bruising in the acrylic or on the body/neck or notorious neck pocket.

Case
This guitar comes with the original hard Case. Case is in great condition with only a no real obvious signs of ware from storage.

She arrives next week :-)

Picked up this beauty second hand a couple of days ago, delighted with it. I've only been playing a couple of years and this is probably far too good for me, but I'm finding its encouraging me to play more, which I guess is the idea!

It's a Taylor mini GS e-Koa FLTD, which I believe means a fall limited edition. Not 100% sure on that though, but it has slightly different electronics to the latest ones you can buy today.

Lovely sound comes it considering its size

I’ve never been a fan of Tele’s. There, I’ve said it! I don’t know why. Never liked the look them, tried a couple in shops and always ended up with something else. I came close to buying a hollow body with twin p90’s but ended up with a casino instead. And it’s not really the classic Tele sound of course.

I borrowed a home-built Kit Tele from a mate earlier this week and absolutely loved it. SD hot vintage Pickups. So easy to play, so comfy, great pots/caps so meaningful control from both volume and tone knobs. Just awesome. The frets were a bit narrow to my taste but that was the only part I didn’t love.

So now I want a Tele. Contemplating a Squier 50’s CV, Andertons are knocking these out at £345 and they get great reviews. Any thoughts?

I've got a 50s CV which I'm going to sell. I just can't get on with it since I bought a LP. Its a lovely guitar but i'm just not playing it. I dont want to completely give up on the Tele hunt though, and figure that a 12" radius fretboard might suit me better. Of the current models, the Deluxe Nashville has a flatter board as does the Classic Series '72. I really fancied a Tele with a Humbucker so that 72 is very tempting but I dont like the oversized Strat headstock on it!

Interesting! I don't mind the skinny necks. PM me if you like and we can discuss it??

Cheers

Looks good to me. I have an American Special the same colour and absolutely love it - although I wasn't keen on the 3 saddle bridge so I swapped it for an intonated 3 saddle Callaham one... made a huge difference to my ears.

Hello all,

I have a hankering for a strat, and have been looking at the Mexican/Japanese made units.

Any suggestions for particular years/ versions I should be on the lookout for? There seems to be quite a difference in quality on the ones I have tried over the years.

Oh, and some pic’s of current main guitar and rig below, as I’m not sure I have done it yet

I personally find such things utterly horrible - but that's good because if we didn't all have different tastes, we'd end up fighting over the same guitars. Which would of course be most unseemly.
