Lets look at our guitars thread
Discussion
I’ve really enjoyed playing this over the last few weeks. Cheap as chips but sounds great straight out of the box , loads of fun. I’ve always loved the original jazz shape, this is a stripped down version, minus all the switching etc and obviously cheaper materials so sounds nothing like a jazz master
That said, the basic humbuckers are doing a good job at enjoying the neighbors.
It’s ripe for modding I think.

I like that; I was looking at the Fender badged ones, but they all seem to have lots of switches and look a bit 'home made', so I preferred the cleaner look of the Squire version. However, I went off on a tangent and bought something else entirely:
Only played it through this amp so far, I have a Fender Deluxe too to try:

It’s a standard model, imaginatively named the Big Block Strat. It was a limited run for a few years I believe and there is some info here - https://www.musicradar.com/reviews/guitars/fender-...
Keeping the pickguard clean is a nightmare!

That’s a lovely guitar. I want one but I couldn’t stretch to a gretch.Only played it through this amp so far, I have a Fender Deluxe too to try:
Besides, if I had one my wife would divorce me because I’d be playing “She sells sanctuary “ badly and often.

Thanks. Funny we learnt 'She sells' last term at a college class I go to. I hadn't even realised it was played on a Gretsch until recently (to be fair it's swimming with effects, so could have been anything). At least this sounds quite different to my other guitars (Les Paul types, Tele and Strat), so I can justify having it. I think I'll be selling off a few unused pedals and other bits and pieces to offset the cost a bit though!Besides, if I had one my wife would divorce me because I’d be playing “She sells sanctuary “ badly and often.

I've got a '95 Vista Series SuperSonic which is like this but backwards with a reverse headstock. That said, the basic humbuckers are doing a good job at enjoying the neighbors.

I was going to give it some new hardware but then I found out they're worth about six times what I paid for mine in original condition so I've decided to leave it. There's a picture of it further back in the thread.

I might have to get one.

Thank you, I'm really enjoying it as it's such a different guitar to my Tele, Strat and LP. I might have to get one.
If you are serious get an order in soon because nearly everywhere has jacked the prices up to around £850 mark, some asking for over £1000 for the Gold trimmed versions, which seems to be taking the mickey...
DV247 still showing one in stock for £712 as of today and GAK have them for order at £708 (but I don't know what their t&cs are regarding keeping to that price if it takes a while to get one in).
I was hoping to buy a new Guitar over the weekend but I'm finding the same "issue" with loads of different guitars.
My play style involves lots of bends and vibrato and I HATE the feeling of scratchy/resistance as the string is slid along the fret. Loads of guitars have this weird sensation. My guitar feels buttery smooth in this regard.
Any idea what causes this rough/scratchy sensation on the fret? Does it improve over time?

Try a second hand Parker Nitefly. They have jumbo semi-cylindrical stainless frets and are the smoothest thing I've felt.My play style involves lots of bends and vibrato and I HATE the feeling of scratchy/resistance as the string is slid along the fret.
