I have brought a few things off it, been very impressed. (Warning - dangerous site content for your wallet)

It is removable which is nice, however I do prefer it on I must say.
To each their own smile I hope you have many happy hours with it.

(Can't seem to shake the GAS for a green LP or PRS.... The Iguana Burst LP's are stunning).

My only memory of a green guitar was a Tele that took forever to sell. I remember that part more than I remember playing the d***** thing!

My pair of '17 Mexican Strats. There is a difference (it's not the colour of the wood or minor scratches etc) but it's pretty much impossible to see at this scale.

Thanks! smile

There was a green one in Andertons when I was in there - looked a lot better in the flesh than online as with most guitars.

Oh, and another thing....

I don't have a Strat in the collection. I was walking limping through London last week and chanced on a guitar shop. Looking for time to kill, I looked round and saw this:

Now I thought the whole relicing thing was a load of crap. Until I saw this. Wow. It just worked. I am going to a guitar show later in the year (Kempton Racecourse I believe), so I know what sort of thing I will keep my eyes open for.... This one is a 'Heavily Reliced 55 Strat' at ~£4500

Tell us! Could only think one will have a lacquered neck (classic player spec) but thought they had aged P/up covers!

I refretted one of them with Jim Dunlop 6100 (high) frets, and ground the frets on the other one down a bit, then relevelled and reshaped them. The idea is to give people the opportunity to try two identical guitars with the only difference being the fret heights. The one on the right the frets are .035" high and the one on the right .055". I may take the lower one down further when I've had a bit of feedback on how it plays (not really a player myself, though I love guitars).

My first LP...

I think I need to ban myself from this thread... that is just a stunning looking guitar. I have so much want!

Love the Jackson Soloist too; the finish is definitely "of it's time" and I'm sure that'll be worth a significant wedge to the right buyer; "won it in a competition, direct from the factory" is great providence. The Soloist was the defining "super strat" for me.

Thanks, yes it's all original. I actually won it in a Jackson competition and it was sent to me directly from the factory, I was 17 and over the moon! I was never a fan of the paint myself and covered the thing with stickers when I gigged with it.

Although I don't play anymore I do still keep an eye on this thread and there are some stunning guitars on show, keep it up chaps!
Very cool, and worth more to a collector then! But be prepared to ship it to Japan or America when selling, as the 80's shred machines are most coveted there.

I had a Jackson SL-3 Soloist a few years ago and I loved it. Some guys like Ibanez RG's, some guys like Carvin DC's, I like the Soloist! I always dreamed of finding a Charvel 750 XL but never did (the mahogany bodied Soloist type guitar that Shawn Lane used).

Well I'm looking for a refret on my 07 Mex Strat in the next month or so, so let me know prices, and I can always give you some feedback!

Had an email from guitarguitar yesterday. John Cruz is paying their Camden shop a visit on 3rd August for a talk and a Q&A for a couple of hours. You have to book a place which I have done!
I have two custom shop Nocasters one of which is an early Jan 97 which bears his name
So will probably drag it along

There's a good chance it doesnt need refretting, a decent fret dress might be sufficient depending on the original fret height and how bad the notching. If that's the case then £60 plus strings, refret would be £185 plus strings, though PH discount would apply to that smile

I was advised a refret when I was in the studio last - I use quite heavy strings (generally 12s - Roto Purples) with a wound G, and its left a dent on every fret down the neck on the G string. I know you're diagnosing based on a post - but the only equipment I know about was more pedals and amps etc. rather than frets! But if it only needs a dress money saved isn't a bad thing!

One of mine. About twenty kilos of seventies beast. It's got the lot, bullet truss rod, three bolt neck, all those well loved CBS money saving features. More or less retired now, but still plays & sounds just like it should. It's a good guitar & belies the reputation they had in that era.

Couldn't tell you. It's been like that ever since I've owned it.
