Somehow managed not to hear this before - Asphyx positively racing through Winter's seminal "Servants of the Warsmen":-

Lotus Eater is pretty decent as well.

I'm still massively enjoying Arkdown after seeing them last weekend. Got Monolithian coming up soon, which I'm really looking forward to.

Saw that, and the comments that followed.

Think they've made a huge mistake. It's not a rock festival anymore.

The only reason I'd be seen dead at Leeds or reading.

Yeah that did raise my eyebrows; I must be old as the hills and out of touch (31). hehe

The rest of the days proceedings is pretty rubbish (still more to be announced though in fairness) but I'm still going to head along as I have never seen them. My brother and I will just get steaming in Leeds and head up in the early evening if nothing else on the lineup interests us.

I'm practically dead then at 37! I saw them back in 2008 at Reading when it was a bit more rock orientated, and back in 2000 when it was still a Rock/Metal festival! Was something else.

I must have been re-animated then at nearly 42! Saw them at Manchester Apollo back in '95 I think it was. Amazing. Morello was hypnotising.

Some of those old Leeds/Reading lineups were bloody excellent, the Pearl Jam day in 2006 was cloud9

So despite being overly critical of Rage playing Reading and considering going to Prague, this just happened.

I'm torn - I'm not able to get presale so need to wait until Friday, and I'd dearly love to go (been a long time...I was a student in '95), but I'm willing to bet it'll be +/- £100 for a day-ticket...to a festival full of non-metalheads...most of whom will probably be off their heads on poppers or worse...to see a band who were in their heyday before half of the crowd were born.

Am I a killjoy, or is it a recipe for disappointment and potential aggro with some young tt?

I went to see Dog Tired/WitchTripper & Evil Scarecrow last night in Glasgow. Despite the sounds problems it was a really entertaining night, even if not at all serious.

i must have died a thousand deaths then at 45... saw them in 93 in liverpool.... de la rocha was just walking round outside just chatting to people...in light of how big they got quite a surreal experience..
