Oh... and I drove 3 and a half hours down to milton keynes a couple of nights ago to catch "night verses" at the craufurd arms.... what a show...
Aric improta is one of the most impressive drummers I have ever seen..
And a proper gent to boot...
Nick depirro.... well let's just say his guitar playing puts me to shame...
Csnt recommend checking them out more highly..

I went to see Dog Tired/WitchTripper & Evil Scarecrow last night in Glasgow. Despite the sounds problems it was a really entertaining night, even if not at all serious.
I quite like evil scarecrow. I've been listening to Harbinger a lot this week, never really heard them until I saw them in Manchester a few weeks ago.

Seen them a bunch of times in venues up to the size of the Electric Ballroom and always had a great time. They know how to write stupidly catchy songs, how to keep the audience with them and how to have fun. All independently as well.Tonight's listening:-
Void Ritual
Mysticism
Karne
Eskapism
Eskapism comes with the caveat they have a member who also plays in Kroda, so not yet sure if they're getting my money, given the associations that band and the wider Ukrainian scene has. I guess you could argue in a scene as incestuous as Black Metal, everyone has probably played with someone who holds dubious views, likely without knowing it, and that there's a judgement to be made on the links between Pagan, "heritage" and darker world views, but would you knowingly be in a band with someone with This in their history? Not a lot of nuance in that.

Such an excellent band. I was worried when they went instrumental. I was wrong, they are even better. Aric improta is one of the most impressive drummers I have ever seen..

It’s certainly a challenging issue in Black Metal circles. I know that in the early 2000s far right groups in the UK used local metal scenes, especially in South London as recruitment platforms, I fell out with a few people over it. When I started to get into black metal in about 2004 I was given a hard drive full of music by someone and I’ve since deleted some of what was on there because it was so overtly NS. However I can still appreciate Filosofem for being one of the foundation stones of atmospheric black metal. I also really like Drudkh and it’s well known that Roman played in Hate Forest for a time....
It's a problem. I can separate the art from the artist to a point, but the issue for me is where the money goes. Mgla would be a great example. The music is fantastic, but they're on Northern Heritage, which is a label run by an overt Neo-Nazi, so there's just no way my "Black Metal Pound" is being spent on them, irrespective of how good they are. They had a choice who to sign for, and they either actively signed for that label, or overlooked the nature of the guy who owns it. Neither is a good look.seefarr said:
I'd never heard of this before, but now I have. And I've infected a bunch of friends with it too.

End Level Boss is similarly fantastic live, and has a very enjoyable video if you're of a certain age.

Check out Dressed As Goblins, by Nekrogoblikon.
Even more addictive.
I saw them supporting Limp Bizkit (of all bands!) a few years ago in Glasgow. I think it was a Kerrang! tour. Whilst the crowd was entertained, I think 99% of us were standing there thinking "wtf is going on?!" Even more addictive.

I was like when I first heard them, but addicted now. Saw them in Manchester last month with Harbinger and For I Am King supporting them.
Any fans of Alien Weaponry in here?

Load of rubbish.
The music is less than something I can get from Finland and with Finland you don't get all that bks at the start.
