just noticed Joey Jordison's new band "Vimic" are playing in London 15th November, its being advertised as "Joey Jordison's Vimic" over here.

met him a few years ago now when he was touring with the Murderdolls, have also seen Slipknot live a few times so going to pop along to this.

For some reason I've recently found myself listening to Children of Bodom's Are You Dead Yet?, a fair amount. Scandi extreme metal isn't normally my thing tbh, and these aren't a band I can ever say I've listened to before.

I'm pretty vocal-sensitive normally which can rule out a lot of stuff that's seemingly in the same genre as others I love. e.g. loving SikTh but can't stand Dillinger Escape Plan. I think the vocals are just the right side of silly for me on this. Plus I love the odd synth moment that appears out of the blue.

Recently picked up the new Trivium album - The Sin and the Sentence. Possibly their most solid album, seems pretty much each track is a good listen.

Grave Circles
Not bad at all, quite a few Mgla-like passages but that's not a bad thing, and there's enough variety.

One of my favourite 2017 discoveries here, and I only became aware lat week. I prefer the second half/song:

Obvious influences are obvious.. Remete - Forgotten Aura

Not joined this thread before (I don't think) but a good read - thanks to all contributors! Always useful to hear new 'stuff'. My taste went (in rough chronological order) Iron Maiden - Metallica, Sepultura, Ministry, NIN, SOD, Tool, Puscifer, now currently enjoying Meshuggah/ Gary Numan (coz I can smile ) and anything else which grabs my attention..... Obviously loads of other stuff - but that is my general listening, preferences over the last 30 years.....

Just to add to the thread my latest 'find' is Igorrr - quite challenging (and maybe not totally heavy metal??) but I have really enjoyed it......
