Just this.

What, a gravel pit in Hemel Hempstead? biggrin

It's just the coolest album cover. I can actually remember being 11 years old and listening to this. Visceral. Timeless.

Few bits and pieces I have been enjoying of late :-

Grafvitnir

Saw these guys at a small gig recently - really raw energy to them, and ferocious cover of "Into the Crypt of Rays" to boot.

Trivax

New Slugdge on the way, which I'm looking forward to rather a lot.

Haha yeah, my wife has created an edited version that's half the length and it's almost not bad.

Edited to add a link to it:

Spotify Link

There is some good material on the album. it just never comes together unfortunately.

I have created an edited version, just don't put it on again

getmecoat

Oddly, the tracks released as teasers before the album release were the crappest ones on it, IMO

More APC releases:

Album out on April 20 -TalkTalk

I still think the new stuff noticably lacks Paz Lechantin's bass, sadly.

Looking like it could be agood year this year. New Tool potentially completed and actually released - maybe! Also Cog are back in the studio, as are Middle Class Rut. So many good acts coming back seemingly.

Maybe it's because I'm getting old as well, but listening to a 50 year odl Robb Flynn singing about putting your middle fingers in the air starts to sound a bit pathetic. Although Triple Beam does verge into "so bad it's good" territory.

Recently discovered Jinjer - gimmick free and eminently credible female-fronted band from Ukraine. Like Lamb of God meets Opeth. Super tight live performance too.

Willowtip has another new Slugdge track up :-

Eta - not heard Amiensus before, but like what I'm hearing.

I also appear to be "getting" tech death of lately. Some of it is still ludicrously over the top, but seems to be clicking more lately.

New Dimmu Borgir track out today

Bit of a mixed reaction from the comments on YouTube, but I like it.

I don't hate it but it somehow feels a bit weak. Fond memories of being utterly destroyed in a Dimmu Borgir pit back in the day.

I'm loving YouTube paythrough vids at the moment. This is great: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uJH6P77FgrI

Paging Tuscaneer...

Not my usual fare by a considerable distance, but several of these are playing at a several small venue locally in the coming weeks, and hey, heavy music in small, friendly venues I want to support is a good thing, so been investigating. Should hate some of it, given the influences on display, but all pretty decent stuff, and looking forward to catching it live.

Leashes - Inside Out
Haema - Two Minds
Remenitions - Paradigm
The Hero Dies First
Stereo Skull
Revealer - Nothing;No One

Very excited for the return of Howard Jones and Light The Torch (was Devil You Know but had to change name due to member leaving). New album out at the end of the month. A couple of tracks:
