Sorry for the hijack but are there any current DnB artists that are more laid back? I'm getting too old for Pendulum style anarchy and want more of something like Alex Reece. Any suggestions?
I've got a CD at home made by Serpico - a Manchester DnB artist/sound engineer/producer that is possibly some of the most laid back drum and bass that I've ever heard. It's not current but very much worth a listen.I've lost touch with him now (K.C. if you're reading) but he always said to me promotion is everything and since I can't find any of his stuff on line he's either changed names or died.
I'll grab the CD next time I'm back and upload the lot to you tube.
I've fond memories of sitting in his studio with him looking and listening on saying 'how the fk do they get that bass note out without clipping or compromising the dynamic range' I've also got some not so fond memories of him working the same drum loop 100 times saying 'nearly there...' when it didn't sound any different to me....
If you can find 'Screamin Paris' out there somewhere let me know.
(He also remastered some tunes by a few mates of mine called Ask Murt - this was folk rock stuff but his sound engineering shines through)
This also very old but very cool...HAS to be the Peshay remix though

Very good.I'm loving everything that Skrillex does at the moment, although I suppose calling it drum and base is very tenuous.
It's very strange, but amazing.

Filip Motovunski - Ta Pa Tap
There's something about it that just puts a smile on my face, I love it

I recall someone mentioning Brookes Brothers albums were hard to locate..
They've just released one, available through Isohunt etc, I'm told.
It's all over the torrent sites but getting a 'real' copy is a pain in the bum. It's on trackitdown.net if you want to buy it.They've just released one, available through Isohunt etc, I'm told.
