This event seems to be very poorly supported on PH. Is this a reflection of the quality of the event? (I've never been, and am looking for some feedback from those who have been before)

There's a whole area of the website dedicated to the show (comprising around 30 threads) and there has been a total of three posts in a whole year with 30 days until the show starts...

I agree, PH support of this sucks.. the show is good though.

I'm going again this year

Have to say this Website is not the place it once was frown
Just go to the front page, click on the Calender and then to Pistonheads events and there is nothing for January!
http://www.pistonheads.com/calendar/phevents.asp

Pistonheads used to have some great stands and a big line up of members cars in the past but sadly since the Haymarket take over, things have not changed for the Better frown
Really? 2015 saw us hosting more events (Sunday Services, F1 wake ups, Track days, Le Mans etc) than ever before. In fact, look here to see for yourself: http://www.pistonheads.com/news/general-pistonhead...

And as for Autosport, last year we went to great lengths and considerably more cost than ever before to have a top notch stand, which doubled up as a pub.... the previous years where there were just a load of cars stuffed in the corner of a hall were not popular with either visitors or owners and was (to my knowledge) a logistical nightmare.

Anyway, we're doing a lot at the show this year, which I will post about in a separate thread.

JD
Just looked at the Front (home page) Calendar again.....Still nothing for Performance car show listed. wink
My comments are Related to people discussing the upcoming show, there has been nothing from your end about the Show so far! Even advertising the bloody dates online might be a good idea don't you think?

This has Nothing to do with Sunday Services.
Sincerely.....

We'll be there, exhibiting again with our posh trailers, got a good discount on during the show, come give us a look, stand #7411 Turatello. If somebody asks nicely on pm, we have a few parking passes available so you don't have to bunch up in a single car with all your mates.

There are a few but you'll be paying for it and the queues tomorrow will probably be horrendous.

Could you all go and see the auto solo too please, most of the drivers are from Bristol motor club and will be glad to take you for a demo

You'll be very welcome on the Laser Tools Racing stand, where you can drive Aiden Moffat's car around Silverstone (Forza 6). Plus you may be lucky enough to get some pointers from Aiden himself!

Nice trailers!!!! I had been looking prior to show and noticed Turatello. Had a good look round them on Thursday.

We went yesterday, bloody busy. What I don't understand about the show is why year after year many of the stands are in exactly the same place? Surely even the exhibitors would like a change around now and again?

Nice pics - how did you set white balance to avoid that yellow cast?

The stands are in the same place because I imagine moving your place probably costs money, the stand space is preposterously expensive which is why a lot of people stopped going.

Those that do are mainly start ups, established companies that do business there or people with large PR budgets and nothing else to do. Think abut the people who arent there anymore...

Plus it makes Haysheds job easier, they will likely have people going around all show asking "same spot next year?"

Tells you all you need to know about the crummy place really.

they usually pick the same spot so returning customers know where to go the following year

Well my son and I thoroughly enjoyed the show today. Tonnes to see and ogle over. Lots of unusual stuff I wouldn't normally see - loved the Gold roof line up of championship winners in the oval racing section for instance.

Thought the Live action arena was much better this year - less dreadful 'banter' and a decent flow of fast paced action. Terry Grant and Petter Solberg in particular left my 9 year old's jaw hanging....

A big thank you to the organisers and all of the live action participants from me clap

I don't post often but I really wanted to stop by to say thanks for an amazing day. Next year I think we'll come for 2 days, there just wasn't time to talk to everyone and see everything. We ended up rushing round the hot hatch display which was a shame. Didn't get to hang out much at the pie and piston either but I had a really decent glass of wine which revived me at a key moment biggrin

What we did see was fantastic. I know my better half (TroubledSoul) enjoyed the board meeting while I was busy being a total fangirl over Susie W and Damon H. It was fantastic to find out all about the Dare to be Different movement (#D2BD) and also to chat briefly with Susie herself. I promised to beat the husband on track, so I WILL <3

Best of all, I managed to meet those guys without making a fool of myself or security getting involved biggrin

It was such a great chance to stop by lots of trade stands, we tried out lots of seats and then got a really nice discount on our lids.

Petter Solberg was the hilight of the live action for me, it was great to witness the crazy talent first hand at last biggrin It was brilliant to see all the different types of vehicles/races etc. We loved the shed race biggrin Made me want another XJ REALLY badly. It's time for me to get my third, I know it...

I love spending time with the special cars, for me the hilights were the Delta HF Integrale, one of the Huracans and the F1 cars. Right at the end, Jim at Williams let me have a close look at Keke Rosberg's 1982 car. I remember it from when I was 6 years old and I have his autograph right here from that year. So it was extremely special. It was great to have a chat with Jim about working at Williams too, lovely guy.

So it was a day full of special people and incredible cars, just as it should have been. Thanks to PH and Autosport <3

I was there on Saturday and really enjoyed the day trip out. A few more race cars would always be more welcome but the main thing i noticed from the last few years is that there was a lot less F1, seams everyone getting a bit fed up of it now. Anyway here my vid from the live action arena.
