After much thinking about what to go for to replace my old Vitara, I finally decided to go for one of these! Have liked them for ages but trying to find a decent one & not too far away was a challenge in it's self. Finally this one came up & only 60 miles from me so I went to have a look & picked it up last Friday. It's so smooth & effortless to drive, I am really pleased with it so far.

Small world I bought one a few months back too, really enjoying ownership so far.Do you reckon try it off road?

Are you the guy that helped me out with some parts for my Crossfire? (I still have that by the way & can't see me getting rid)

Probably not try if off road to be honest... I do however still have the Grand Vitara so be rude not to at least get it muddy...

Don't know if your interested mate but I've just picked up a sump guard on ebay for £40 from a company called direct 4x4, it's listed for a compass but its a direct fit. The standard ones have a habit of falling off.
Will take a look thanks.Mine has been sitting around for a while as it turns out the rear end was in pretty poor condition but got it repaired by the guy I purchased it from.
It also needed a new battery which hopefully will turn up today as somebody in the past had put the wrong type on there (really small 005) & probably on the cheap.

Yer those spiral cell gel batteries have always been horrifically expensive, mine failed around Christmas luckily I had a spare form my old car still.

Rear subframe was replaced....... I don't understand why the battery needs to be such a specific one & so costly as it's only a 2ltr VW Diesel engine. I read some where that Jeep had extended the warranty on the subframes to cover corrosion topics, 10 years our something along those lines.I always wondered that myself I could understand it for the big diesels as they needed the deep discharge capability but on the Patriots and such???

Unfortunately Jeep only extended this warranty in the states...... I did look into this. The guy I bout it from was pretty decent about it though, he replaced the subframe & swing arms & I bought the drop links & bushes. I have gone for a Varta OE spec battery so I hope I don't get anymore issues. It's was £150 & reduced to £95 so fingers crossed.I always wondered that myself I could understand it for the big diesels as they needed the deep discharge capability but on the Patriots and such???
