Grand cherokee WJ, front hub fail ?

Need a little advice here chaps...
Im the process of changing the front diff oil yesterday, I glanced along the axle towards the back of the off side wheel hub and noticed the dark stain of a dried oil leak allaround the axle casing. Very similar to when the rear oil seals started to fail.
So Im assuming:
1) Its the hub seal thats failing and slowly letting out the diff oil ?
2) You have to replace the whole hub as a unit, not just a new oil seal and bearing ? (I have watched a few youtube vids of the job)
3) Its going to be a MOT failure or advisory ?
