Not sure where to post this so thought here would be a good start. I've recently bought a small holding and have treated myself to a tractor, a 1984 Renault 651S no less.

Love the dear old thing. All is fine apart from steering getting slow to respond and delay in hydraulic arms lifting. I assume they both run from hydraulics. First thing I'd like to do it top up hydraulic fluid to ensure this is full, but no idea where it goes. I suspect in the tank behind the centre great lever, there is a bolt type lid to a fluid chamber which I assume is what I need.

Can anyone out there advise please?

Thanks!

Homes and Gardens might be a more appropriate thread?

I think you can get the manual here, it's in French but if digital and you don't know French you may be able to Google translate. Failing that lookup French for hydraulic and search whist cross referencing diagrams.

I came across a hydraulic filter for it online and it's pretty big and unmistakable so could be a good indicator to find the tank.

No worries, let me know if you don't have any luck as there's a guy here who has a lot of John Deere tractors but he may be able to advice with your Renault one. May need some photos to help identify though.
