Wait you need a licence in a regular pickup?

Interesting that it won’t qualify as a commercial vehicle, that would make it a no-go for a lot of potential customers I suppose.
Yep, it certainly will. The reason my car was a cancelled order is because the original chap was unaware that it’s not like other Rangers when it comes to purchasing it through a company.

Why doesn’t it qualify is it not rated to carry 1t due to its suspension setup?

Yes, that's correct. IIRC it's only rated to about 750kgs.

They had one at Goodwood and I was quite excited to see it, thinking it would have a bit of poke. The bloke driving it looked like he was struggling to get it to do anything interesting apart from some mild wheelspin on the grass to the side of the track. It should be pretty swift as a daily driver and nicely equipped but not really what I thought a Raptor would be like.

Thanks for the link David. Congratulation on your order.

I want to see one before ordering.

There will be many places it won't fit through. Not built for our road or our high fuel prices either.

Incidentally, if you have one and you do not park at our Tesco within the white lines you get a ticket from the enforcement fellows.

Looked at buying a diesel one instead of a van for my company, then looked at the fuel consumption... couldn't justify it.

However if it is not going to be allowed as a commercial vehicle with a flat rate road tax or any other tax benefits... it will have limited appeal.

Thanks. Link seems to provide most of the info, but a couple of bits still seem a little ambiguous! Only bit I'm concerned about is the potential fitment of these two bars that go over the roller cover on the bed. Can't see the point in them and think they look horrible. Weird thing is, they weren’t fitted to the car in the official pics that came out last year, but feature on the price list link. Assuming it's something that can be removed; just want it the same as the Wildtrak! Have got the pic by zooming in on the little video from the Ford website.

Shouldn't have too much bother finding one to look at - think the dealers will be getting them around the same time mine arrives.

I will be in Australia in July and will have a look at a Raptor there if they are not in the UK by then.

Had a look yesterday at the Hilux AT 35 Artic truck with light bar which looks good too.

You can see the 2 bars in the first picture of the pdf link.
Is the lockable cover in that picture included as standard?

I am not parking at your Tesco within the white lines, nor plan to - so will certainly not be buying a Raptor.

Did you see the Hilux anniversary edition? It was a Hilux with custom suspension all terrain tires looked decent

However you are prob better off buying a cheaper one and modding it I think you can retrofit the the AT35 officially through Toyota.

Imo these custom trucks are cool but a bit hard to enjoy in UK (even harder than sports cars) and the engines don’t really fit their sporty appearance- a nice V8 4.0 turbo lump would be perfect and they have closed the gap on oil burners for economy a lot

Did anyone get any communication from Ford UK on these? Why do companies ask for people to sign up and then send no info out about anything??

Same thing with Jeep and the JL.

Yeah, hoping the bars don't materialise, but as I say, sure they can be removed.

Yes, the lockable roller cover and 'sports bar' are standard fit, same as on the Wildtrak (with the exception of the possible addition of the strange bars).. Weirdly, the Australian-market Raptor doesn't get the cover or sports bar, but their Wildtrak does!

Nope. I wouldn't have had to phone 500 Ford dealers on Saturday morning if they had. madhehe

Those bars do remove. They are an option on the Wildtrack, to enable you to put whatever lifestyle device on the back(pushbike/skis etc). The just slide out, as they are in a small channel on the roller shutter side rails. it’s all made by Mountain Top, have a look at their website if you need any further info or PDFs.

None at all; the cars are completely sold out until next year. I would imagine they’ll be going for overs once they start arriving as supply is so limited.
