Have been watching lots of US based YouTube vids of pickup trucks off roading. They seem to have so much choice and such great countryside to exploit too.

Anyhow, it got me thinking. Do any of the modern'ish UK market pickup trucks come with or are available with a factory diff locker?

The Ford Ranger is now available in the USA (with a 270hp 2.3 turbo petrol engine) and can be had with a rear locker.

The Chevy Colorado (I believe based on the Isuzu Duramax) in ZR2 form comes with front and rear lockers.

Toyota don't offer the Hilux in the USA but rather the Tacoma, which also comes with a rear locker.

The Ford UK and Isuzu sites seem sparse on such info.

The current UK Ranger can be ordered from Ford with the off-road pack, which includes a rear locking diff ( plus a banjo rack, dungaree press and mullet comb)

The current model hilux comes with a locking diff as standard in all specs.

Both previous generation hilux that I've driven have also had it but not sure if it was model dependent.

2019 Ranger has a standard locking rear diff on the Wildtrak and Raptor. Optional on other specs.

Last year I had an hours off road coaching with a very experienced 4x4 coach: He did the driving for the Tamiya Bruiser Hilux rep in the videos. That truck had a rear diff lock, but he found the truck better to drive and more capable with the traction control engaged.

My Isuzu D-Max AT35 is not currently offered with a locking diff, he advised me not to worry.

If I ever feel I need one aftermarket options are ARB (compressor) and Harrops (e-locker).
