Hi peeps my first time posting on ph though I've been lurking on these forums for a while. Was wondering if anyone knew of any decent green lanes to go driving around the Gloucestershire/cotswolds area? My friend and I have a Subaru Impreza and we basically want to take it rally driving for free. If anyone knows of any locations for decent green lanes suitable for cars let me know. Thanks.

I have no idea on the actual law But I would assume a 5-10mph max speed limit would apply.

With a high number of other people enjoying the countryside the last thing they want is some council estate rally weapon charging round corners...

It's legitimately not a wind up. We're on the look out for green lanes around Gloucestershire and surrounding areas to take the subaru. We won't be driving that fast.

Subaru Impreza for laning!...... ''want to try a bit of rallying'' on public green lanes.

You'll be very welcome!! Not.

Push out a little further and see how well you fare between Rockley and Barbury Castle (between Marlborough and Swindon).

Don’t go if it has been raining though as you won’t make it out.

They’re derestricted, so 60mph limit in a Subaru! Unfortunately some people believe that to be an appropriate speed (I have a byway behind my house)...

We're only going to be doing a maximum of 50/60 anyway

I’ve not been down any green lane where you’d be able to “go rallying”. You’ll most likely break your car and get stuck.

Your car isn’t a WRC car.

That’s quite moronic. You do know people also walk down green lanes. With kids, dogs and even horses.

Driving like that on green lanes would make you a total wker. And you should be unwelcome everywhere.

Not too mention bloody stupid and dangerous for yourself.

Well, a quick Google of their username also links to an Insta account. I doubt more than one person would come up with the same username. Especially when that account posted "rodenmenda121 - A face that craves spunk on it" 44 weeks ago on a really old Insta post from Sally Nugent.

Similar level of intelligence between that post & the one on here tbh laugh
You've obviously never watched bbc news in the mornings, Sally nugent is fit as f*ck
Regardless of whether she is or not, normal people don't post about wanting to spunk over their face on an Insta post.

Wasn't a wind up we ended up going to some rural tracks/roads near Cirencester ragged the sh*t out of the subaru lol
In that case, hopefully the Tamiya RC car didn't get too badly damaged & you got home in time for school in the morning.

To put a more serious slant on this, is there anywhere that you can take an off-road vehicle in the UK where it’s actually worth going?

We’ve got a Range Rover recently, and it’s be nice to take it up and down some tracks, over hills and so on.

Not at speed like our infantile OP, and I don’t much fancy the official “Experience” days where you are just shown how steep an approach it can handle, or how clever hill descent is.
