Hi All, Ive got a Rangie which im slowly restoring, it runs fine and everythings ok apart from a bit of rust and the interior, Problem is when ive come to getting insurance quotes they all run away because its a Irish Import (it has an Irish Registration - 5 Numbers then 3 letters), Also Im 21 with 6 points on my license and No NCB (its only available on one car and being used on my daily motorway cruiser), Im really eager to get this baby on the road soon but im getting stupid quotes (from the companies that Quote me!) So my question is... who should I goto?

Adrian Flux refused based on age, imported vehicle and points on the license (which at the time was only 3 Points!)

The points are for speeding, 1x SP50 Speeding on a motorway and 1x SP30, Speeding on a public road so no nastys really....

Thanks in advance for your help with this one!!!

Are you looking at 3rd party Fire and Theft? Or is the landy expensive.

An import won't help matters and a V8 at 21 with 6 points? Not the best starting position.

I have recently been thinking about a cheap, and I mean cheap landy for off roading but I think the insurance would put an end to that. (Same situation as you but only 3 points).

Have you any quotes? If so what are they? I hear Elephant can be worth a try and put as many female drivers as you can name on there with you - Mum - Girlfriend - Sister etc.. May help bring it down.

Cost me £700 and im not bothered about bending it to be honest! so 3rd party only would be fine!

Might look into the adding named drivers bit...

I feel for you if your in the same position as me... I really hate insurance companies!!!

Cheers for the reply smile
