just a couple of sweaty weeks to get through and then winter is here and it's playtime! about time we had a good scrap on the kart track then retire to a bar to invent ever more elaborate excuses for our performances smile

has anyone been to the emirates kart zone and are the karts/track any good? deal on at the mo here:

http://www.nailthedeal.com/team.php?aWQ9TmFpbHRoZU...

otherwise when do the kartdrome refresh their gear for winter?

thinking early october so that people can put it firmly in their diary to avoid the usual high dropout rate [chilli/6thgear i'm looking at you wink]. thurs/fri preferred but not the night before a trackday.

Im out of karting as my back still isn't right, but I'm very much on for a drink.

Was thinking about having a BBQ on 19 October at my place directly opposite DA Kart Track. Will be inviting some lads over from Evolve and the BMW Club.

If you guys are interested, and you can wait that long, you are more than welcome to pop on over for a few beverages/food etc.

Just need to confirm that the Mrs will be away on a girly night that night.

There are no track days on the 19/20 October, so we are safe.

What are the karts like at this place? The ones at the Autodrome are rather tired and the difference between them is ridiculous.

http://www.emirateskartzone.net

that's the website, track is marked out by tires from what I can see, never even heard of the place before.

So we would have been even further ahead with a level playing field? smile

I am in for this, date and time being doable, need some distractions, been a fking horrible few weeks.

Edit - The actual value of this deal is 80 dhs, not the 150 it quotes according to the website.

I'm in the area Oct 18-20 and keen to do Motorsport type things, possibly with 6th Gear. Will keep an eye on this thread.

i have asked on the kart forum when/if the kartdrome refresh their machines for winter. if not then i reckon it's only fair for us fatties to get first pick biggrin

as for dates shout up what you can and can't do during october and suggestions for a suitable drinking establishment.
