Can anyone recommend a decent service/person to move a car from Sharjah test centre to Abu Dhabi? Can’t drive it till it’s re-registered. I heard there are flatbed drivers hanging around at the test centre for this purpose but not being familiar or close to Sharjah I don’t if this is true.
Thanks!

Did you buy privately, or from a trader/dealer ?

I bought a car last year from Souq Al Haraj and the used car dealer organised the testing there and delivery to me in AD on a flatbed. I paid the driver 400AED for the delivery, which seems inexpensive, but he had very little English and I don't have his number.
If nobody can suggest a service I'd recommend calling one of the used car dealers there and asking for a lead. I bought from Kandy Cars, who were honest, helpful, and courteous. They're not all like that ! laugh

Cheers man. It’s a private sale so on my own.. good idea to get a number from a dealer I’ll try that if needed.
Thanks

You could go to the test centre in AD and ask the drivers there?

The go to Sharjah and bring the car back.

I've done it a few times and there are always guys waiting at the registration centres - but I've used only Dubai and Abu Dhabi but I doubt it'll be any different there. If you need to go to collect the car or do transfer paperwork I'd get the truck from Abu Dhabi, ride with them there and then bring it back as that saves you an additional lift or taxi one over there.

We use a guy called Raj for moving stuff - ‭055 990 1180‬. Dubai based but will go anywhere.

He is used to moving all sorts including very low and fragile race cars. Has a new truck with lay flat bed, is super reliable and a very nice guy.

Thanks for all the info. Just in case it’s helpful to someone else... I didn’t transport the car in the end. The seller was able to drive the car to the registration centre in Abu Dhabi and we did everything there. I took the new car home and he got a lift back to Dubai. There’s a registration centre in Al Samha that’s a reasonable compromise distance from Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
