As the title suggests. I'll be moving sometime in the next few months. I'll need a car pretty much straight away but I doubt I'll have the ID card and wage slips etc to purchase for a few months,

so my question is, what's best to do, find a short term rent/lease say around 3-6 months? If so, any recommended companies?

You will be able to rent right from the airport, there a number of companies that will lease on longer term. I have found the online comparison sites best for car hire in the past.

Visa and Emirates ID is usually quick to process (no more than 2 weeks), once you have your Visa you must get a UAE license as your UK license wont be accepted anymore. UAE license is issued same day as application.

Car can be purchased as soon as you have your Visa and UAE driving license

When I came back to DXB I got a 4k Golf R32 with 250k kms on the clock to see me through while thinking about getting something a little more meaty.

Had the R32 for 2 years now, its brilliant. My wife bought a kitchen with my car fund.

I hired a Duster for a month, I broke it and they replaced it with an X-Trail for another month.

3rd month, I went to a Jeep main dealer, was approved for a ENBD loan based on my work visa, along with a letter from the manager of the company showing I do get paid my claimed salary.
