Mallory bridge is at least high enough that spectators can see past it!

Well, I guess it's more that Mallory's flatter, but this thing's an absolute eyesore. It looks more like a scene from a beach after a container ship's crashed.

I would imagine it has been build for access for super bike spectators, i would think Mr Palmer makes more money at Cadwell for super bikes than the rest of the season put together.

Hey, come on, they wanted a bridge, they got one. A good honest bridge. No messing.
What else does tha' want? Another Dunlop? Or that crazy one on the South Korea Yeongam circuit?
Cadwell's in Lincolnshire, next door to Yorkshire, they don't do fancy there.

It's a bloody shame- I did like the gated crossing. And I am possibly in a very select few who loves to spectate at Coppice(but my name possibly gives that away ). I hardly see another spectator there but it offers sight of up to 5 separate overtaking areas. Anybody else miss the old bridge by Hall Bends ? Or even remember it?

I think coppice is one of the best viewing points as well,i could never understand why they took the bridge away at hall bends, elf and safety i suppose.as for the new bridge ,what an abortion.

To be honest the one at Oulton doesnt look as bad as it looks like a bridge. The one at Cadwell just looks totally wrong. Shame as its one of the best tracks in the uk IMO, and has always had that natural flow and look to it.

That bridge looks terrible, suppose it was cheap though. A better option would've been a tunnel... Could they not have put the bridge further back to not block the view of Coppice?

Why on earth would you need planning permission to build a foot bridge on your own race track?. There are no neighbours & even the local farmer perched on his tractor cab with a pair of binoculars would struggle to see the thing as it sits low in the valley.
The bridge itself has its good & bad points tho.

Any permanent structure over a certain size needs to have planning permission, and this is certainly big enough to need it. Equally as its in a public place and needs to carry people there are a lot more legal issues, if you were just allowed to put up anything like this without the proper approvals and checks in place then it would be a disaster waiting to happen.
Having seen it a few weeks ago on a track day I must admit from a driving point of view you dont even notice it. From a spectator point of view it has ruined the view from the club house as you cant see all of coppice now, didnt bother to walk down and have a closer look.
