I am currently a student at Cranfield University studying MSc Advanced Motorsport Engineering. I am looking for work experience during the Summer months to increase my practical skills in the motorsport environment.

I am a hard worker and keen to learn. I am really interested in vehicle dynamics and data acquisition. Not only this, I am open minded and like a lot of areas of motorsport and design. For example I'm currently working on a hybrid powertrain for a group design project and my previous thesis involved structural design. For my MSc thesis, I will develop a direct tyre wear measurement system using image processing. The details of this are still to be confirmed.

I have some experience working with a Formula Ford 1600 at my previous university. We carried out tasks such as changing camber and toe settings, calibrating position sensors, analysing data acquired from the data logger etc. Also, working at Halfords for 4 years as a bicycle mechanic while doing my bachelor’s degree has given me hands on skills.

Any experience I could gain would be greatly appreciated and I am sure I can be beneficial to you.

Try Lanan. Graham, the boss posts on here occasionally.

Based in Cranfield, proper racers, and look after some awesome metal. Nice guys too; just as happy helping me out with club racing as they are the pro stuff.

Thank you for your reply. One of my classmates actually works for Lanan Racing so I will give them a try smile.
