sod racing on a grid with someone like that tbh, especially in prototypes. Initially I thought he didnt know/forgot/unsure of safety car proceedure, Josh and Co in comm's called out his behaviour fairly early and the YT chat were vocal about it (a few of whom were racers) from then I just thought he lost his head a bit, to see him do it in race2 (and hear from commentators he got his penalties overturned) was wow tbh. Great shame as those cars look mega when they're racing around somewhere like Donny, if he's raced all season is this the only time he's gone full nutjob?

There have been lots of incidents but nothing quite as bad as this. Once upon a time I was also a relative novice in cars, having raced karts for years then had a long break, and there was an upward learning curve / brushing off of the cobwebs and rust.
I bumped into the odd person and still feel bad about it.. and you can bet your house on the fact I went over and apologised immediately.
It's one thing going for a move, especially as someone fast but fairly new to racing, and doing something like locking the brakes and giving someone a nudge. That's annoying, but those things tend to subside as people gain experience and you can always say it was unintentional.
Throughout the season there's been stuff like that, and the odd snap or swerve when someone's close, my argument always being that you should've covered that space off before the person got there, be aware of your surroundings, where someone's stronger than you etc and try to anticipate a move before it happens.
This weekend was different, there was nothing accidental about any of it as far as I'm concerned, there were numerous cases of intentionally hitting other cars.
I always share my footage and I've tried to do so without putting my feelings or thoughts out there because I don't want to influence anyone, but consequently everyone has the same view of it, which is comforting.
Whatever happened in the stewards office, it doesn't matter anymore, it's all on camera and it's plain to see.
I don't think anyone with any ounce of concern for their reputation would dream of publically defending driving like this.

Also nice to see Dan still doing well.........doubt he'd have enjoyed being in that kind of a race in a Superkart.

How's prep for the new season going?
Hi mate not bad. I've only done one trackday just to give the car a shakedown, but I'll be doing the Friday test before the croft race weekend, which is next week. Cars had quite a lot of work and felt pretty good. I know my main competitors have been doing lots of testing but such is life, I do not have time or money to burn, I also don't want to take half the life out of the car before the season even starts!
Hopefully I can hit the ground running on Friday and get on the pace.
Sounds great. Were you at Oulton Park for the track day? Only did 1 day there & I have memories on sliding backwards towards the barrier at Old Hall on my first hottish lap!
Hopefully on your way to another title. I'm planning on being at Croft on Sunday, so I'll give you a knowing nod if we pass in the paddock.

Oulton can be quite unforgiving but that's what makes it exciting!

Yes just a open pit lane trackday, terrible traffic but good for coming in and checking stuff / tweaking things. Test days are good for trying to do representative lap times but bloody expensive and rigid sessions so not good for tinkering... Unless you pay a fortune to have a team run you and you can sit in the car and bark orders like a pro

Cool come and say hi!

The onboard video from Croft just popped up on my YouTube recommendations.
Good recovery after a bad start to the weekend.
Looking fast this season.
Thanks mate, been a bit slow to update this time around. Got the car handling pretty nicely and potentially some more pace to unlock. Good recovery after a bad start to the weekend.

Realised that I've had a few things wrong for quite a while, and it's given a dose of extra balance and grip that is very welcome.

Fantastic, the ‘TV’’ coverage missed a lot of the action, hardly saw anything of you in race two and three!
Great to meet you too Ryan. You had a good close battle in the final race of the day.
Always like to try & get dad out to an event. He's like a kid in a sweet shop. There's plenty of stories about standing all night in 1970's Welsh forests waiting for the Lombard RAC rally or at Silverstone for the TT races
