I'm wondering whether the extra weight of the plastic Hans is much of an issue in practice as it's essentially well located by the belts to your shoulders, so I'm not sure you'd feel any of the extra weight. Although all extra weight should of course be avoided in racing!

Anyone got any experience of RRS helmets?

Their new FIA 2015 helmets look good value, especially with the comms install.

Can't say this enough, your best bet would be drive to somewhere similar to Demon Tweaks (other motorsport suppliers exist).

You can try multiple brands, types, shapes and sizes in a 30 minute period and leave having bought a helmet (and accessories) you are comfortable with.
