New to racing. What pit equipment should I bring?
Discussion
A regular helper at race weekends.
Someone to remind you that drivers briefing is in 10 minutes and it was moved from the place on the timetable to somewhere else. To remind you to collect your licence from race control at the end of the day. To give you a pep talk in the assembly area and to calm the nerves. To quitely listen as you recall how someone baulked you on your best lap. To remind you to drink enough. To remind you to have some lunch etc., etc., To quietly get on with a number of the turnaround jobs without needing to be asked (setting tyre pressures, refuelling, etc.,)

appoint one of them as your race engineer. not newey level, but someone who can reign you in when exuberance takes over. i share the car with my friend and alternate race weekends. the one who is not driving is in charge of the car and whether it goes out on a session.
its very hard to stop yourself going out when there is a marginal call on the car ['those pads look ok to me', etc] especially when you have spent all week prepping and spent a fair wedge of cash just to be there. you need someone you trust who can provide an unbiased opinion when required so the end bill isn't higher than it needs to be.
voice of experience here. 'it'll be ok' turned into a loss of brakes and a not insignificant trip into the barriers.

Hi guys, I'm planning on competing in a series for the first time next year (probably either the BARC or CSCC Tin Tops Championship) and I wanted a bit of guidance about what pit equipment and spares it's useful to bring with me to a race.
Thanks in advance.
A spare pair of hands. It's exhausting doing it all yourself! Thanks in advance.
Warm clothing. Large flask of tea. Packed lunch, something you took time to prepare not some grissley bacon thing with cheap sauce on it that you'll feel like throwing up shortly after.
Maybe a few spanners, lots of absorbent paper towels and a good reliable trolley jack
