Oh come on - last year MSV circuits were open, but Croft wasn't. and other venues remined closed Drag racing may not be MSUK but it's essentially the same as any other form of motor sport - guys and gals in the open air playing with cars.

Paddock access verboten - how the hell do we reconcile that with Tesco's , gyms, golf courses , cinemas and swimming pools being open? I can understand caution about pit garages , and crowded BTCC events but the current situation is a farce , and underpinned by total aversion to risk rather than sensible risk management . A paddock is essentially the same as Tesco's car park , but with bigger spaces and fewer cars.

Tonight there's a big football match I believe , accessible to a big crowd who have to travel there by plane . And yet I can't walk up to Sunny ?

Wales is ploughing its own furrow, as usual, and is not allowing race meeting to take place but permitting sprints and hill climbs without spectators. Where's the logic in that.

Not sure where you got your info regarding Sprints & Hillclimbs in Wales...

We were supposed to be at Anglesey this weekend for a double header sprint, but unable to run due to the welsh restrictions on the maximum number of people present on outside events

Well that just makes the situation even more confusing as we are at Pembrey next weekend for a double-header sprint and have been informed it is going ahead. How you are supossed to plan for a season with all this inconsistency!!!

Commenting as a spectator, fantastic weekend, super friendly staff, great weather and the racing was spot on with packed grids, I think I counted 39 in the mx5's and just under 50 in in the endurance?. I wasn't expecting much from the endurance racing but it was flat out.

Back home, severely sun burnt smile

Thoroughly enjoyed racing at croft. There was a bit of an issue with ride height checks being done incorrectly and our results had a number of DQs that were appealed and then the DQs removed and results reinstated. Took the enjoyment out of it a bit as it added controversy. But anyway, fantastic weather, maybe a bit too warm for me! Great circuit - a proper ballsy drivers track. Managed to break the lap record on Saturday but it was nowhere near as fast as I managed in testing when it was a touch cooler.

Here's a video from testing

Castle Combe today (well, Monday) was excellent, aside from the lack of paddock access or being able to walk a full lap (but still 85% of it) it felt 'normal', particularly over at Quarry where I spent a fair bit of the day. They must have been very close to the 4k limit as it certainly felt busy, although each group was safely distanced.

Seeing the TCRs race at Combe for the first time was awesome. I always remember feeling slightly uncomfortable spectating from certain spots with the British GTs there, a lot of big metal at very high speeds with no run off or debris fencing. Some of that is fenced now but for sheer proximity and speed, Dean Straight (still unfenced) today felt spectacular. There are faster cars there regularly but not so big and so many.
