Remember that June is the only British championship meeting at Doune this year.

A long way away from you, however I reckon Wiscombe Park has the best viewing of any UK hillclimb. Nice weekend away in Devon

Watching the BHC cars through the trees at the top of Wiscombe is well into my Top 10 motorsport moments, definitely worth a visit.. just make it a dry day.

For me, the ultimate spectator experience in hillclimbing (and quite possibly all car racing) is to stand on the outside of Oaktree at Doune for the top 12 runoffs. I don’t know of anywhere else to get so close to a real racing car and driver doing their stuff. It is bloody scary just to watch!
100% this. It’s a visceral experience just watching the top 12 there.

2023 is going to be a great year in the BHC, definitely get along to a few meetings. Matt Ryder looks super quick in the Gould, together with Alex Summers, he’ll really push Wallace Menzies….

If yesterday's outcome at Prescott is anything to go by, it looks like Scott will be pushing Wallace as well.

If you fancy stepping off a big island and going to a tiny one, try the Guernsey Hill Climb, paddocks all along the main road alongside the harbour and the sprint is up the public main road through the woods to the south. Spectators sit in the woods right above the track and an epic mix of cars from full racers to home built beach/sand racers(those are a whole other conversation).

I went to Prescott on Saturday.. apart from the early fog it was a great day. The standard of the BHC is very good, with strong classes and dozens of single seaters. Prescott is a decent venue with excellent facilities, they've clearly invested quite wisely. I'll be back in September.

Jos Goodyear helpfully made a drivers eye view video of the best spectating points.

Might need slowed down a tad...

Starts 1:30 onwards.

I didn't actually manage to get there this time but watched a good deal of it on Youtube TV.

I agree, the standard of cars, drivers and level of competition is very good.

What I love is the designers and manufacturers are able to explore aerodynamics with a fair degree of freedom so you get some interesting designs and the top 12 usually has a variety of engine configurations from Summer’s Indycar engine, Gould’s Judd and Menzies’ cosworth based powertec some forced induction bike engines in the mix!

It really is a fab place, lovely setting and on a nice day, even just a nice place for a walk. Far nicer than Shelsley for me, though both are great. Prescott also good to watch but not fast for me, seeing a car though the kink at Selsely or up the hill to the last sector at Loton is breathtaking. As is Gurston, by the way, though not been there for a long time, I like seeing cars like this flat out, and you get that a lot at Gurston and Shelsley. Not so much at Prescott, but the different challenge is the thing.
It's that personal choice thing again. I may be persuaded by setting and convenience, the cotswolds Prescott experience is perfect cloud9

Agree the "sand racers" are something else. Had them a few years back at Harewood. Basically a bed frame with a V8.

My 14 year old son and I went to Shelsley yesterday. I havent been since before covid and remembered how much I enjoyed it.

Lovely setting, friendly setting, good facilities, relaxed and friendly atmosphere, and more or less constant stream of interesting cars powering up the hill.

We had a great day!
