Print Quality Reduced?

Few years ago I bought some PH T-Shirts and they were great. Printed properly and seemed part of the t-shirt. Still wearing them now with no issues. I ordered a few which came this week and the way they are printed is worse. I have no idea how the design is applied but even though only a small part of it is design the whole front of the shirt seems waxy. Is this something that goes once washed or is it just a bad one? They all seem like this and seem to have an outline around the whole area where it was applied which is noticeable.
