Since my front is broken and i have to repair it,
i am thinking about a new design, too.

I made a first sketch in photoshop:

I didn't change that much:

I straightened the bonnet,
softened the edges,
added larger intakes at the bottom,
and changed the lights.

It looks much better in my opinion,
and by moving the lights the tyres should not scratch the head lights anymore.

I got a first offer regarding the cost of building a new mould/hood.
Now i try to figure which heads lamps i can use and the cost of that...
I'd like everything to be LED. Bad?

First thing found so far is "Nolden".
High/Low beam doesn't seem to be a problem.
I just need to watch the housing depths?

Nolden has the "NCC Transformer Pro" LED DRL (9 LED's), too.
Opinions? Suggestions? smile
Concerns regarding IVA?

EDIT Oct 2017:
Took quite some time, but here's the result:

daylight driving lights:

daylight driving lights + low beam:

low beam + daylights in action:

It's hard to tell from the picture, but the Nolden LED lights are a huge improvement.

Interior changed too:

Some building pics:

I think it looks good straight on, doesn't look right with the rest of the car from front 3/4 in my opinion.

And I suspect with that arrangement you won't be able to get the lights high enough to pass iva.

Not bad, each to there own and individualism should be applauded, just remember you are narrowing the appeal come time to sell.

I quite like that to be honest. You could redesign the tail end to match too (I'm thinking similar to new Corvette).

Compliments on the idea. Nice to see something a bit different. However the more modern front just doesn't seem to blend with the overall lines of the older shape IMO. The "mix" is not right somehow.

personally it's not quite doin' it for me. A coupe of reasons
It appears as if you're wanting a more up to date/different front end - nice idea..the one you have shown looks too angular and angry and jars with the rest of the curvaceous (near friendly) looks of the rest of it.
The other reason for me is that the origial look seems to mirror a good few current LMP cars (excluding Audi natch)

If it were me I'd be looking to re-design the grilles beneath the headlight arrangement...

but it's not me..it's you, good luck in achieving the look 'you' want thumbup

As others have said, it's not for me, but if it floats your boat go for it!

The sensuous curves of the original front clip are, to my eye, essential (and vastly attractive) elements of the car's overall appearance. Those gorgeous front fenders!! I don't care at all for the angular "modern" appearance of some supercars. The age-old Ferrari vs. Lambo design language disparity…

Well, that's all that matters - it's YOUR car !!

Like some of the other comments, I don't like it either.

Best of luck with whatever you decide to do..

I also prefer the original front end. However, I do think there is room for improvement in the area below the headlights.

Good luck with the re-design!

If you want to stay Legal the Low Beam unit has to be 500mm above the ground (to the middle of the lens) . That's the biggest pain for trying to make things legal but you don't have a choice for IVA...HB units there are no stipulations so there easy to place where ever you want. They don't check it on a MOT but the way things are going you never know..

Agreed - if you just softened the corners off a touch it might just be enough. Good work!

I think it looks good, but as others have said, it doesn't really fit in with the rest of the styling.

As long as you like it, who cares what others think. (I've been wearing cords since I was a child, have taken a lot of stick for it, but I'm happy).

Shows how different opinions can be... I love it!
It reminds me of Koenigsegg Agera.
If you were to re-style the rest of the car with the same details in mind, you could have a truly special looking car.
Can't wait to see it when its done

So here I softened it up a bit more, installed my Fav British models and put the steering wheel on the correct side.
Being retired is fun- I would gladly drive all of (4) them

I couldn't quite decide if I liked it before, but you have sold it too me now smile

I wonder how softening the lines & the larger vents have on the overall aerodynamics.

Lots of car designs here

There may be something you can 'borrow' if you are after a different look.
