actually I think Gman built his own car.
Good point. However, isn't the exact setup avaliable directly from the factory?

I think I saw the car on the A420 just near to the Marston Roundabout about 2.15 this afternoon.

Well done Ultima, good to see you better the Caterham time with it`s trick gearing and tyres. As for getting the Top gear record, I think you will find that our SR3 has laped the top gear circuit in 1.15 in Stigs hands and our SR8 will do it at least 5 secs faster. So good luck.

Fan-bloody-tastic. that's a pretty fast stop/start/stop time.

How does that compare with, say a modern F1 car or a Hyabusa / Blackbird engined kit car ?

Why don't we all just email top.gear@bbc.co.uk with a request. If they get enough emails about it they'll surely consider it.

on the parallel thread I said:
Well done, gents.

If you're going for Top Gear, let's hope you can set up the handling for that airfield.

I seem to remember Tuff Noodle criticising a GTR for difficult understeer.

Still don't understand why two threads kicked off.....where's the other one gone?

I'm easily confused......

I believe that was a bit unfair. The car was tested in almost monsoon conditions and the rear wing had been cranked up to try and get some grip at the back. A well set up GTR is pretty neutral with a bit of understeer to keep it safe (when the back comes round, as with most mid-engined cars I believe, it does so in a bit of a hurry...).

There's a race condition in the forum code. Normally it would be a bad thing...but this is Pistonheads!

The car has Goodyear stickers so I would guess not!

Well done Gareth, really looking forward to chasing that car now to Le Mans in June.

Congrats. Thats an amazing time.

That car would do a 0-200mph-0 at Brunters easily, as it's got a far superior power/weight ratio in comparison to my car.

I don't think it will ever make it onto topgear tbh its really a kitcar isn't it,still very fast though

its no more of a kit car than a noble! you can buy a fully built car straight from the factory to this spec.

I'm no great fan of ultima's i will admit that but the performance is very good, but i would imagine that a westfield/cateram could match it. i can't see how you can compare an ultima to a noble.I think the finsh and quality of a noble is far better

Actually the GTR has already been featured on Top Gear before. Not bad for a 'kitcar' eh.

A caterham couldn't match this one on acceleration (caterham R500 is better on the brakes!) and we will agree to disagree about the finish and quality of a Noble compared to an Ultima.
