Anyone tested their car for conformity.

I notice that an Ultima (Bluesatin?) will be at a sub 98db event with over 500bhp is it proven to pass?

I have cancelled due too this but still hope to go and do the lunch time rides. You have the same problem as me in that I don't know the noise limits of the car.

The scrutineers at Goodwood are more than happy to test your car if you ask nicely! Unfortunately mine came in at 105dB at 4,500rpm on their static test. Like Blue' I had to cancel.

At some tracks where I was racing the Cobra and noise was a problem, I used stainless steel scouring pads inserted into the exhaust pipe to lower the noise. The usual method of securing the pads was to drill some tiny holes and use stainless steel locking wire (.032")passed through the pipe to hold them in. I've also used clothes hanger wire bent in the proper manner and inserted into the pipe usually around a joint to hold in the pads.
Happy driving
Jack

Stig

I never thought the wedge was that noisy especially as it is used for storing ultima boxes during the build. I am still trying thinking of ways to come upon your rear tyres- keep the doors locked at all times.

PS Everyone lies a little about there revs ....
When they ask what does you engine rev to .. say "today only 5000 rpm" .. so 2/3 of that equals 3300 rev please sir ... 98 dbs .. track is that way sir ....

Don't say with my new F1 style engine 15000 rpm you simply won't pass

The local authority have monitoring stations around Goodwood linked back to their offices. Any loud cars are invited to leave the track if they exceed the limit.
