I've owned a GTR for six years, purchased from a fellow whom I believe to be an expert builder. Nice car with an early LS7, but there are some changes that I want to make. Unfortunately, since I didn't build it it's been difficult to find some simple information required to work on the car. I have the build manuals but they seem to gloss over some of the basics.
So if you don't mind, I'd like to start listing a few, embarrassing as they are.
So, here we go:
How do I remove the front light pods? The rear one as well?
And how do I remove the seats? Is there a 'stop' that can be removed and they can slide out (seems unlikely) or do I somehow have to remove them with the rails?
Thanks

Hello Rich
The front headlight pods are usually removed from behind the front clip by taking off the two nyloc nuts one top centre one bottom centre then the protective cover should come away exposing the back of the lights some people have a rubber seal all around the edge like a car door seal to make waterproof some people actually seal it on if sealant is used and the protective cover won't pull away you will have to break the seal with a doctors scalpel being very careful by the wiring.
Unless you are changing a bulb or something I would leave alone the rear lights again are accessed from inside the rear clip best way is to take the rear clip off the car which is a tricky process would be better to describe over the phone 01829250939 after 5pm the seats are best removed by undoing the 4 nuts under the car which hold the runners the whole seat and runners can then be lifted out of the car but be careful because sometimes the bolt that is through the runner inside the car which can be accessed by sliding the seat foreward and back isn't welded to the runner and is a pig to undo or tighten when replacing the seat hope this helps regards Russ

Verde, if you're still in the Bay Area, I've got my my car in pieces (still coming together) but it'll give you a good look at what's underneath. I'm up in SF and I might be able to answer any questions you have. Also, was that you with the red Ultima at the recent Canepa cars and coffee?

Will

Thanks you HF. I guess I missed the two nylocs. I thought I saw one in the center, but it was coated with some rubberized material and I didn't want to strip it off (to remove it) until I asked. I guess I have to look a lot closer (though I thought I did).
But it looks like I have a bulb out in the right rear. I just may have to give you a call. Thx for the offer.
Rich
