Finally got my act together and took the assembled short block down to Vibration free for balancing, all done and now on to cleaning and assembly

should have the engine finished by the end of next week, just the heads to go

Sounds good. That also looks like a nice paint job. that looks like quite an early engine and you're going to run boost. I can't see bowls in the pistons? What cr are you planning to have?

Its a new block from Summit 4.8/5.3l iron block and 4.8l crank but looking at the head bolt lengths its pre 2000 spec. Using a mixture of old sbc, ls gen 3 and 4 parts CR 8.9 and yes i will be running boost

Is the bottom end stock or have you put forged Pistons / rods in it?

It's a standard 4.8l crank, forged rods and pistons with stainless gapless piston rings

Heads on couldn't resist putting water pump and inlet to see size, have roller rockers and pushrods to install and then I may put turbos on for a look at physical size out of chassis
